This is the new meme - Obama is the same as Carter. Luckily, Carter's been crazy lately, and no one but Freepers see the resemblance.

Lots of joy over the Dem party's infighting. We'll see how things go.

Roundup

Freeping around this week, I found the following crazy quotes:

by Conservativegreatgrandma
Different reality edition:
This campaign needs to come down to four issues--energy, the economy, national security and illegal immigration. These are all winning Republican issues. This is not complicated.

FredZarguna ("I want that crazy uncle institutionalized, pronto.") on his conservative upbringing:

Me, at age 13, a very naive kid, watching the Democratic National Convention with my Mother and Father.
Me: "Mom, what's a Crypto Nazi?"
Mom: "It doesn't mean anything, it's just something that man Gore Vidal is calling Bill Buckley to make him angry."
Me: "OK. Mom? What's a queer?"
Mom: "It's what Gore Vidal is."
Dad: "It's like the creepy guy who follows you into the bathroom at Sears."
Me: "Oh."
allmost is unclear about population dynamics:

Islam is the inbred religion. At it’s core. Terrible.
nwrep has something to say about parentage how it relates to how you should vote:
Obama is a two-bit bastard child born to a pimp married to an atheist slut. McCain is a great patriot born in a legendary patriotic family. End of discussion.

Jihad everywhere!

To be fair, about 1/4 of Freepers didn't buy that Rachel Ray was wearing some kinda Muslim neckgear instead of an American scarf, but that leaves 3/4 as crazy people blathering about "terrorist chic"
Ann Archy (Abortion.....The Human Sacrifice to the god of Convenience.) , who has graved this blog before, writes
Rachel Ray is a Liberal.....THAT'S why Dunkin Donuts should drop her!!
Wow, that one can work in an attack on liberals (or Liberals) anywhere!
top 2 toe red ("Cackling hillary...makes her sound like she is mentally-illary." Jimmy Kimmel) puts a pox on all houses:
I don't know who gets on my nerves the most...Michelle Malkin or Rachael Ray.

Kinda equal I guess, just different nerves for different reasons.

stockpirate (McCain a traitor to his conservative roots, & to conservatives.) gives us the expected type of paranoid crazy, but delivered with such pitch perfect insanity!

They aren't clueless, they understand what they are doing.

By taking a symbol such as this and attaching it to someone like her takes some of the negitive charge people will have when seeing it on terrorists.

After 9-11 shows all over TV started having Arabs in positive rolls. Jodie Foster recently did a movie where some gang members kill her Arab boyfriend.

steve-b (The "intelligent design" hoax is not merely anti-science; it is anti-civilization. --John Derbyshire) thinks it's a scarf, but that doesn't mean his blame is properly placed:
What the hell has gotten into Dunkin Donuts management that they pay any attention to this sort of crack pot nonsense?

That's some good victim blaimin' there, Steve-b.

Ruh-Roh.

McClellan went off the reservation!
Perchant goes for the classy assassination joke:
How many Republican Presidents have fired a guy named McClellan who later went looking for revenge?

balch3 goes for the obvious fascist reaction:
this fool should be tried for sedition.

fish hawk (Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.) figures it's all capitalism:
These type of horses asses know that if they write a book praising Bush, it will not sell. So, they write this kind of crap and the left will help them sell it. It's all about money these days. Loyalty disappeared when?
First, right wing books never sell too badly. Second, loyalty does not mean covering up crimes and lies to the American people.
E. Cartman (Better to have your enemy before you than beside you or behind you.) lives up to his name, in analyzing a Freeper dream:
I wish W had chosen Ann Coulter to be his press secretary.

Coulter would also have been uppity enough to tell Jorge when he first began to both blow and suck.

Cause that's the press secretary's place - to tell the president when he begins to blow AND suck.
kbennkc (For those who have fought for it , freedom has a flavor the protected will never know) lightens the mood by adding a little liberal hate.
The WORST Press Secy

Agreed . Bill Moyers is now the second worst lying POS press secretary .

Damn, Scott, doesn't look like you can go home again...

And now This Word From Outer Space

Legalizing stuff no-one ever dues cause it's too stupid edition:
Should 6 year olds be able to buy hand grenades at 7-11?

It used to be possible, in the 50's, to buy 20mm anti-tank rifles mail-order, and the country didn't descend into urban chaos. What purpose does your example here serve except as a pitiful attempt to inflame emotion?

If I'm busy changing the oil and I want to send my six-year-old down to the corner store to pick up a few rounds for my M40 for some weekend recreation or stump removal, what business is it of yours or anyone else's?

No ID check, signature, or even human interaction is needed to buy as much gasoline as one's credit card balance and tank capacity will allow, and one gallon of gasoline has the explosive potential of 14 sticks of dynamite. I can, right now, today, send a six-year-old to the corner gas station with my credit card and a little red wagon to pick up five gallons for the lawn mower, and the world hasn't collapsed into arson-driven chaos yet.

Don't buy into the imaginary peril that the anti-gunners dream up. It's just not related to reality in any meaningful way.

Fairness Paranoia

The Fairness Doctrine is often held up by Freepers as evidence of Libs trying to suppress speech. Cause the radio is the only media that isn't all polluted by liberal thought.
They are so protective of their world that they worry that even the currently Republican FCC might turn on them!
Cringing Negativism Network ("CHANGE INFLATION NOW" -- The Obama campaign, will be distributing buttons.) proves there is such a thing as a stupid question:
What part of the First Amendment, is so complicated?
unfamiliar with Red Lion Broadcasting, I guess. Decided by the Burger court too, natch.
econjack (Some people are as dumb as soup.) proves that there are also stupid answers:
You're assuming they care about the Amendments.
Yeah, liberals NEVER mention the constitution.
Lion Den Dan continues the trend with another stupid answer, this time a non-sequitor.
I think it is the part that says the 2nd Amendment is a collective right.
...Okay. Since the FCC is in conservative hands at the moment, this is all they got. ExTexasRedhead just kinda continues the trend, turning paranoia in to liberal hate:
Liberals aka American Gestapo
And that's where I'll leave you. Republican FCC considering regulating radio stations? Well, that's just like rooting out and killing Jews.

Saturday Pix

Yeah, the quote fits into a narrative. Hillary = killer. Sigh.

I'm the bigger Beyotch!

Unh, unh, unh! I is the bigger Beyotch!
This one was a pain to get in, but damn! First, there's the misogyny of the whole being a bitch bit. Then there's the broken English of Michelle Obama, because she's black. And the best part is that the poster is likely unaware of any subtext to this "joke."

Also, that pic of Michelle Obama is showing up a lot on Free Republic. Oh, they can't WAIT to attack her.

Say what you're thinking, but put it into the mouth of someone else. Hilarious!

Free Republic: threatening to pick a fight, but somehow never following through.

Yes, the Obama = Muslim bit is getting more and more traction on Free Republic.

Prepare for the Freeper humor!

I know the famous Saturday Pix is coming up tomorrow, but when I saw a thread about describing Obama in three words, I knew I had to go and check out the conservative humor for myself:
JamesP81 (George Orwell's 1984 was a warning, not a suggestion) was very popular with is thinly veiled *gasp* swear word:
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
RockinRight (Supreme Court Justice Fred Thompson. The next best place for Fred.) went with the current fad - a Carter reff.
Taxes. Islam. Carter.
CDHart ("It's too late to work within the system and too early to shoot the b@#$%^&s."--Claire Wolfe) makes sure only to repeat the most hilarious of the puns he hears:
In only one word: OBAMANATION!
Lizavetta hits the most popular theme, can you spot what it was?
Muslim Socialist Lawyer.
Finally, avacado goes for a shotgun approach:

- $15 Dollar Gasoline

- Destroy The Economy

- Freebies For Everyone

- Young, Dumb, Dumber

- Communist Party Approved

- Hope, Change, Screwed

The interesting thing about these lists is that they are like a snapshot into the psyche of a Freeper. Their issues with Obama are identical to those of all other liberals, with the Muslim thing on top to add flavor. That's how they see things:
Hillary: Socialist + evil woman
Obama: Socialist + secret Muslim
Kerry: Socialist + Vietnam traitor
Edwards: Socialist + pretty trial lawyer
Gore: Socialist + boring liar.
Is it any wonder the GOP has mastered the soundbyte? Their followers are always halfway there!

The natives are restless...

Whenever I worry about the traction the Muslim meme seems to get in Appalachia, all I need to do is check out Free Republic. McCain seems a bit squishy with the base. In fact, so does Bush...
Freeper stalwart goldstategop (In Memory Of A Dearly Beloved Friend Who Lives In My Heart Forever) , says
The GOP has given this conservative no reason to vote. I wonder what the party stands for. Right now its "me too" with the Democrats. We need a choice - not an echo.

The proof is that McCain and Obama never argue about policy.

Perdogg (Four years of Carter gave us 29 years of Iran; What will Hilabama give us?) provides the counterpoint: your hate will make you strong:

The GOP might not have given you a reason to vote for the GOP but the dimocrat party surely has.

TomGuy declares doom:

In 06, many of the talkshow hosts were predicting the end of the Democratic party.

Instead, as the votes were counted, the blood-splatter was from the GOP and their losses.

Ironically, just 2 years later, it is the GOP which is limping toward November.

And with all the spin and prodding and number-crunching, it still is an uphill feat for McCain. The Electoral count just isn't there for McCain, yet. Barring some signficant October surprise [many think the Michelle Obama 'whitey' tape is it], McCain may not have enough oomph left to limp across the finish line as the winner. After all, even now he is relying on those dis-affected Clinton voters to help push him to a win.

in 06? I seem to recall people predicting massive Dem gains...must not have been going to Free Republic enough. I also like the blood-spatter imagery.
LS (CNN is the Amtrak of News) is a problem solver:
I'd say, aside from dealing with terrorists, the #1, 2, and 3 planks need to be drill, drill, and drill.

There has to be a way to connect with the younger voters on SS and Medicare, because they are heading for slavery/serfdom if this isn't dealt with very soon. My college students get this. Why is it so hard for the GOP to make a case, then?

Cause there are not many young environmentalists. Also: serfdom?

Romney Returns!

So McCain is thinking running mate...
He's meeting with Jindal and Crist, and reportedly *shudder* ole Mittens Romney.
Crist, it seems...not so much. Caipirabob (Communists... Socialists... Democrats...Traitors... Who can tell the difference?) is representative of most of the opinion:
I've been softening on McCain given the alternative, but no way will I put Crist even near the White House. He's a tree-hugging, man-buggering freak who can't achieve anything meaningfully conservative.
Jindal - Some like him, but most agree with Extremely Extreme Extremist (Bipartisanship: Two wolves and the American people deciding what's for dinner)
Jindal ought to be ashamed of himself. He needs to stay in LA and clean that state up. He's raw, he just got elected Governor. He has no business trying to be McCain's VP.

Then, there's Romney...
Mitt is the only one I would consider voting for the ticket.
if if is crist i will vote for bambi. the good news, we would lose him as governor.
says libbylu
PLEASE PICK ROMNEY, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Great. Romney is like the perfect demagogue. He's changed every position, told people in Michigan he'll bring their jobs back, said anything it took to get into power. And it didn't take, thank God. But now he's back. Or might be back. It's like the beginning of the sequel to the horror movie where there are suspicious signs that the monster may be back, but nothing's concrete yet.
I'm never getting to sleep tonight.

Ted Kennedy

Free Republic mourns:

Alright, lets get this out of the way:
he survived college and even passed the bar..../sarcasm/

I say that remembering the rumors of how he cheated his way thru college and somehow cheated his way to pass his bar exam....all rumors....

what did the Bible say.....good will be called evil and evil, good....

I'm getting old enough to not care about mincing words anymore....

God speed, Mr. Kennedy...God speed....
And

" Can people leave their personal stuff aside on this thread? "

HA Ha ha ... good one

I would take a stab at what Mary Jo will say to him but I don't think they're going to meet in the same place.
By cherry and Mr. K respectively.

Most of it was nice, like Kolb's comment
Wow, not good news. Politics set aside on this one, my thoughts and prayers go to Senator Kennedy and his family.
There were lots of backhanded comments like Bushbacker1 (Kill 'em til they're dead, then kill 'em again!)
As much as I hold the “Swimmer” in disdain, I could never wish this upon him. Saying prayers for him and his family.
But then I saw why the Freepers were nice. Not cause they were, but because they thought they had to be:

The DU'ers will troll these threads and cherry pick any negative posts. This is a good opportunity to show we are better than them. Because we really are. Prayers for Teddy and his family.

says Jaxter ("Vivit Post Funera Virtus"), while MrB (You can't reason people out of a position that they didn't use reason to get into in the first place) crows:

I haven’t read all the comments,

but I’m sure the contrast of the comments on FR vs those on the leftwing sites would be demonstrative if the person in question were Bush or some other conservative icon.

Heck, I don’t have to conjecture - just dig up their comments from when Reagan died.

But my favorite comment, and the one I leave you with, is by hoagy62 (Happily watching the Left go full-goose bozo.)

Man...that’s sad. I think Someone’s trying to get his attention. I pray the senator listens. And you gotta feel bad for his family.

What to do about the MSM?

Bush yelled at NBC in a strongly worded letter today. Freepers jump at the idea to pile on the old "em-ess-em"

bert (K.E. N.P. +12 . The Bitcons will elect a Democrat by default) delves into the reasons behind NBC reporting the bad thing Bush does:

General Electric hates Bush.

The General Electric board wants a socialist revolution.

General Electric wants the USA to be Europesn.

General Electric is our enemy.

Yes, a US corporation that wants a socialist revolution! This makes complete sense!

2ndDivisionVet (McCain could never convince me to vote for him. Only Hillary or Obama can!) just goes for the rage:
Was I gone when they made Keith Olbermann the president of NBC? We all know that 99.9% of the drive-by media is in the tank for Barack Hussein Muhammad Obama (PBUH), but this is getting ridiculous!! The FCC might want to start looking at whether or not these licenses are being used in the public interest!
yes, it was all in bold. I also like how this clown is excited about the fairness doctrine, only in reverse, cause the usual talking point is that it's all about kicking the conservatives off the air.

Grampa Dave (Hussein Obama"Hama's" Pastor, Jeremiah Wright: "God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11") has an awesome story for you all:

My best and true story about NBC happened a few years ago.

When the NBC affliate in Gay Frisco channel 4 tried to extort Dish, the CEO of DISH dropped channel 4 from its lineup in minutes.

We knew nothing about this as we never watched 4/NBC. Our son came home to visit and tried to watch channel 4 and got a reminder that that Dish and cancelled their services months ago.

He laughed at us.

Then, he tried to watch CNN and it was blocked since day one when the Dish installer set up the system as per my request with all CNN stations blocked. He still jokes about the lack of the NBC station and no one noticing that it was gone.

It must be nice getting all your news from Free Republic! Never have to worry about any contrary facts!

Saturday Pix

Alas, the weekly toon threads on Free Republic have ended. But Freepers still post some amazing things:

So Hillary wasn't the villain at all? It was Bill all along, like some sort of misogynist Scooby-Doo episode?

Lots of these pics this week. Freepers love this - Nazis were such pure villains, and World War II was such a good war...ah, good times, good times.

Hilarious! See, Obama is one of those scary blacks!

Carter? Really?

friday roundup

Here's the standout crazy I found this week. Mostly about Obama:

FlingWingFlyer (De-Globalize yourself !) on how most male Obama supporters are gay:
“Hillary Women Bolting the Obama Nation.” I heard somewhere that more men are downloading the Obama ‘08 Speedo Edition Screensaver than women are. Just something I heard.
He exagerates. I'm sure it's just the white ones.

-------------------
txflake recognizes the secret sign Obama's a Muslim.

One dead giveaway [Obama's] Muslim: the man never laughs or happily smiles.

No muslim men do.

Have you ever seen Obama genuinely laugh at something, with true mirth?

And also that footage in the restaurant, where he starts eating and Michelle has to reach over him for her plate because he’s above handing it to her?

I guess none of these smiles is "happy":

Also, I'm sure Michelle Obama is totally the type to put up with being completely subservient to her husband.

----------------------
JudgemAll (control freaks, their world & their problem with my gun and my protecting my private party) seems angry, but I can't figgure out what he's saying.

Obama precriticizes... about not criticizing.

“We want to make Obamy daddy happy, now, don’t we? After all, Hitler was made happy by white boy, so now white boy must make sick Obamy happy”

Glad Hitler fits in there somehow as well. And I hope the crack was good.
------------------------
HerrBlucher (Asked on his deathbed why he was reading the bible, WC Fields replied "I'm looking for loopholes.") hasn't got on the bash-Obama all the time memo, and wants John Kerry killed for a change.
Is this a treason that can be prosecuted?

There is no such thing as "treason" in America anymore. One proof of that is we nearly elected a traitor for President in 04.
This just in: saying Vietnam was a bad idea is treason! Let the killings of the majority of Americans over 50 begin!

California recognizes homosexual marriage: what will happen?

Maybe Massachsetts was first, but Free Republic has some predictions about what this latest decision by he CA Supreme Court means:

Most Freepers echoed Falcon28
I expect a massive earthquake in California within the next two weeks. It has officially become Sodom and Gomorrah.
Funny how Massachusetts is still around.

WesA went for a more economic route, 'cause God often acts through the market:
California will be a third world country in 25 years.
longtermmemmory (VOTE! http://www.senate.gov and http://www.house.gov) goes back to the old Freeper standard, paranoia:

Traditional marriage is a thought crime and thus the state of california deems parents who teach it as abusing their children.

If they state of california can say which feelings are allowed and not allowed (as compared to behavior and actions) then they can easily criminalize thought. (ie conservatives)

Yes! Allowing gay marriage is just like locking up all the conservatives! Better git yer guns!

LowTaxesEqualProsperity widened the scope of the issue:

This country is finished.

Well, there you have it, folks. Gay marriage in California means America is done. It wasn't Bush what done it, it was teh homos I tells ya!

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Ahhh! Death!

I just want attention...

The recent electoral results in Mississippi's 1st District do not make Freepers Happy. What are their prescriptions to right the GOP ship of state?

Clintonfatigued (Karl Marx supported free trade. Does that make him a free market conservative?) wants to throw Bush under the bus:
Can anything be done to keep Bush from speaking at the Republican National Convention this year?
Oh dear, abandon the Great Leader? This is SERIOUS!

Theodore R. ( Cowardice is still forever!) can point to exactly when Bush became a RINO:
[Bush's] decline started the day Terri Schiavo was murdered — March 31, 2005.
*sniff* never forget! Whine about it FOREVER!

But back to Republican reflexive blame. JLS hits us with this gem:
...[T]his is the GOP history. They threw Nixon to the wolves and were blown out in 1974. The Dims on the other hand defended the indefensible with Clinton and minimized their losses. But go ahead, blame the most conservative president since prior to WWII.
yeah, if only the Republicans had stood by Nixon...what a missed opportunity.

Norman Bates (Freepmail me to be part of the McCain List!) says the GOP needs to go into straight rabid, trapped animal mode:
Never again. NEVER. No new tone. No nice guy. When they’re down, don’t kick ‘em, shoot ‘em.
I think angry partisanship is a great tone for the GOP to take! What an awesome brand!

Say you want a revolution

I gotta say, one thing I never get tired of is the dire threats Freepers make if certain eventualities come to pass. Nothing demonstrates the importance and desperation of these kookalas like their sad plans for revolution or Apocalypse.

Case and point, Obama might become President:

tcrlaf starts off with doubting God's omnipotance.
If Obama is elected President, not even GOD will be able to save us...
And if that isn't hyperbolic enough for ya, maybe something less metaphysical, like death threats from Enchante (Obama: My 1930s Foreign Policy Goes Well With My 1960s Social Policy!)
"Is this a treason that can be prosecuted?"

Well it would be good if both Malley and Jimmy Carter could be hung for treason, but no, nothing will ever happend to either of these leftist scumbags.
Or maybe more indiscriminate kiling of all those of a certain political persuasion, as roses of sharon ( (Who will be McCain's maverick?)) seems to advocate:
Voters don't know jack about the Democrat Party, and I don't think we can wait another generation.

Heck, we wouldn't even know without the Internet.

We need a drastic plan, and we will need funding, to go up against Soros and all major media.
Hmmm. Maybe that was more a half-baked plan. It may be drastic, but I didn't see enough outright advocacy of death.

libsmacker75 can help us out on that account, though:

Makes one wonder what might happen on Inauguration Day if either the Hildebeast or The Muslim are fraudulently installed by a wave of illegal voters and their friends in the MSM. Given that scenario I’d say there’s a very good chance that those of us who’ve had enough of “progressivism” over the last 40 years will do whatever it takes to restore the Republic as the Founders intended it.

Whatever it takes, eh? Yeah, I'd say that there's a quality internet tough guy death threat. The more they threaten, the more marginal they are.

Monday, May 12, 2008

Yes, I'm back

I hate long hellos as long as I do long goodbyes.

I have another job starting a week from today, so we'll see how long I can keep this up.

Might Makes Right

Freepers ask "What does $120 Oil Mean for the Global Economy?" The answer? Bomb Iran!
Add this to the list of reasons why vaporizing Iran is what must be done.

At what point does Civilization draw the line, at what point does it sink in that the era of Chamberlain has run its course, has been over for some time, at what point does the "epiphany" reveal itself, at what point do we respond to the "Invasion of Poland" moment a moment History has time and again demonstrated will soon be foisted upon is, whether we are ready or not?

If Iran getting nuclear weapons is the Invasion of Poland in this scenario, then what freerepublic_or_die is advocating is equivalent to us invading Germany in about 1929. That sounds like an awesome plan.

river rat (Semper Fi - You may turn the other cheek, but I prefer to look into my enemy's vacant dead eyes.) has a pretty awesome plan that goes beyond Iran:

It means one of two things:

1. Drill and Refine our OWN oil — where ever it may be.

2. Inform OPEC to take their own production up to a point where the market price returns to $25/barrel, or we’ll kick their ass and take the gas.

You choose.

When someone calls him on 1) the fact that OPEC can't make the price $25/barrel anymore and 2) he's a fucking lunatic, riverrat responds with some political wisdom:

"BTW-You do realize that you do not have a right to cheap oil?"

Real cute....did you learn that in Pubic Skool? (sp intentional)

I have the right to do what is necessary to fight blackmail by oil cartels and ransom demands...

Might makes right...and the victor writes history....
Stupid Public Skool, always teaching people to be civilized.

I'm not a fan of gun control, but seeing this guy's philosophy, I'm not sure I want to give him even a pointed stick. Might get ideas about being mighty, start to demand I give him stuff for free...
