chris37 is happy:
I congratulate the house GOP on a rare stand.jeffc has no problems with Democrats not being paid, and since so many Federal workers are Democrats...
This makes me happy.
People will go without pay, and probably a lot of them are Dem shills anyway (I know, I know - not all!!), IRS, Just Us Dept, etc.pepsionice explains how the American People thinks the shutdown is awesome, and Democrats will totally cave:
Well....here’s the sad truth. After crossing dozens of burning bridges, noting each was burning at the time....with this administration, the news media has conditioned us to expect little to nothing from each burning bridge. Sequestration wasn’t a big deal. Benghazi wasn’t a big deal. On and on.Dilbert San Diego thinks the media is already unfairly not blaming Democrats:
By next Sunday evening....the Administration and the news media will stand there in shock....the majority of the public doesn’t really care about this burning bridge. They aren’t going to bring out the fire truck, block off traffic, or show up to watch the bridge burn to the ground.
Around Tuesday of next week....some Democratic Senators will be shaky over what has transpired and viewing their 2014 election races. They watched a fair number of their associates in the house and senate go in 2010 and 2012. By the end of next week....they won’t stand with Reid and this strategy anymore.
Anybody else get the impression that the media is blaming the Republicans 100% for this? I swear the media is so in the tank for Obama and Democrats. The media is covering this story in a manner in which they make sure to assess blame, rather than any “balanced” approach as to how we got in this situation, and how it can get resolved.JediJones wants the savings from unpaid workers:
Remember, this is all a dress rehearsal for the debt ceiling debate coming later in October.
Nice! But I’m sure Obama will negate it all with an executive order that restores back pay and deny our bloated budget the much-needed savings.CharlesWayneCT is also sad about government workers eventually getting paid for their work:
Sadly, while many will be “furloughed”, in the end they will all get ALL of their pay back, so it will really end up being “paid vacation”.CharlesWayneCT - all this awesome not paying government workers is clearly the Democrats fault!
The final bill the republicans passed did NOT make any “changes” to Obamacare. It fully funded Obamacare, and the rest of the government.jsanders2001 may need to check up on how many Freepers are 'entitlees'...
It also tried to provide tax relief to people who couldn’t get health insurance (that is the practical result of “delaying the personal mandate”). Government is shut down because Democrats refused to provide tax relief to employees who were denied health care from their business by Obama’s illegal changing of the rules for the employer mandate.
Reid was in such a rush with his “power” that he got played, like the person who grabs the queen not realizing it is a gambit.
Now, the question is, do the republicans know what they have done, and can they do the messaging tomorrow.
Every republican tomorrow morning should be out asking why the democrats shut down government over tax relief.
The GOP needs to show that the reason that there is a shutdown is because the DemoRats have been spending their money like a drunken sailor for the past 5 years to pay for all entitlement programs that we the people have had to slave for and that the coffers have run dry because we can’t keep up (their thirst is never satisfied) and that they’re trying to kill the Obamacare trainwreck.Southern by Grace blames government workers for choosing to work for evil:
Sure a lot of fat unemployed lazy video game playing college grad entitlees are going to be mad about it when they don’t get their freebies. They’ll mull over it or awhile about but maybe they’ll get the message, clean up their act, try to find some work...oh, and possibly do their homework before voting for a president just because he’s PC and has more “swagger” next time...
I’m sorry but was there a forcible twisting of their arm or under duress that they were forced to become tax feeders?illiac:
They could have chosen a job in the private sector where productivity and hard work is valued and rewarded.
Time to thin the herd....rrrod wants suffering...
Ill be happy when I see FORECLOSURE signs all over the DC burbs!American Constitutionalist has no idea what the average government worker makes:
Good, they will learn how to eat at cheap restaurants, buy a smaller home, live without like the rest of us peasants.... Let them eat cake.
Ever notice how Freepers never say what it is they do for a living that is so bloody essential? All they ever do is dump on their fellow citizens, project the worst of humanity onto them, and wish them the worst things in the world.
ReplyDeleteNone of them are actually employed! They're all SSD/Medicare leeches.
DeleteI think most of them are retired military. Some work tech and keep changing jobs--because they are so awesomely intelligent?
DeleteThey're the same psychic powers you used to determine that I'm unemployed and that Ozy didn't go to grad school for physics.
DeletePot? Meet kettle.
Of course they're leeches! Lying constantly about veteran status, claiming to be "honest folk." Obvious misdirection! They're leeches, face it, Conservative Man.
DeleteThen it's a perfectly logical assumption on the Anon's part, too.
DeleteIt's as if they know what an electoral loser a shutdown is. So even though they love it, they don't want Democrats to benefit from it.
ReplyDeleteA real freeper keyboard warrior here..not going to buy any obamacare nor pay the fine and if the gov't thugs come to his door he is gonna take them out..

ReplyDeleteIt's as if they know what an electoral loser a shutdown is. So even though they love it, they don't want Democrats to benefit from it.
Plus, the "Dems are to blame" argument goes against the conservative narrative that Libruls Love Big Gummint and want it to get bigger and bigger, while conservatives hate and fear it just as Our Founding Fathers did back in Bible Days. You can't spend decades driving that basic dichotomy into the public's noggin, and then expect them to simply turn on a dime and say "OMG THOSE AWFUL GOV'T-HATING DEMS DONE GONE AND SHUT DOWN THE GUMMINT!" Especially when every Teabagger in the country is cheering the shutdown like it's a nuclear strike on Mecca.
I wonder if jsanders2001 knows what a dumb asshole he is. Contrary to what he thinks, so-called "entitlees" will continue to receive most or all of their benefits. The people affected are the so-called public union scum working in government. Easy to marginalize such people when you've dehumanized them down to some political bloc. Never mind that these people are jsanders' neighbors, who have families, bills, and mortgages.
ReplyDeleteApparently it's hilarious to him that these average joes will face hardship the next days/weeks/months as bills go unpaid and consequences are faced. And that's regardless of whether they are given back pay down the road. Fuck 'em is the attitude, as long as the GOP can win some pointless political game.
And fuck all the people peripherally hurt by the shutdown too, like businesses operating around the government offices and national parks or vendors that supply the public sector. Or that janitor with two kids that cleans the smithsonian for what is surely low pay.
Freepers are really showing what nasty, cruel scum they are.

Good thing it's not up to you, then.
DeleteActually, Euphdick, it is. See, I'm a voter. Millions of us called our CONgress critters and told them to hold firm (unlike your Barbie doll sock pecker), and wouldn't you know it, they listened. And guess what? We're going to keep it up and vote out any asshole who caves.
DeleteIt's a great day in America, you lump of commie shit!
Actually, Comedian, it isn't. See, in this country, we have these things called "elections". I know that "the will of the people" is something that you think should only be followed when conservatives win, but unfortunately for you, that's not the case. Obama won the election, and the Democrats control the Senate. In other words, "You get nothing! You lose! Good day, sir!"
DeleteHey Comedian buddy ...
Deletegood to see you again!
Man they're really keeping you busy at the Cluck Bucket these days!
Actually, the Repubs ARE going to cave, and they're going to cave tomorrow.
I'm glad you are going to vote them out, give the House back to the Dems for Obama's last two years in office.
You think the Affordable Care Act is a big deal?
You ain't seen nothing yet!
And, euphdick, the Republicans won the House.
Delete...which means squat if the Democrats still control the presidency and the senate.
DeleteIt sounds like these people you're talking about do a hell of a lot more work than Republicans in Congress do, and they still get paid even though they can afford to do the job for free. I'm also sure you have proof that every single Federal Agency works that way, right?
Delete...minority of citizens who actually pay federal income taxes
[citation needed]
And by the way, I know that there are some people (although not a majority) who don't pay federal income tax. You want to know how we can get them paying it? Raise the minimum wage to $15/hour. Do that one simple thing, and you'll suddenly have a shitload of new taxpayers.
Onyx is a hoot..blaming lack of fr donors on Obama's economy..hey Onyx you don't think it has to do with the mass bannings of the sane people and what is left is the kooks living in their parents basements without a job? O running off the mass of average posters who gave in the past?
ReplyDelete======================================
It's really a shame that our FReepathons are taking 2 months to complete, but I primarily lay the blame on that to the Marxist's unconscionable economy.
I do hope and pray that this time will be different. Our good Lord knows and we all know that Jim will need and rightly deserves, time to recover once his surgery is successful.
It's not easy to lose both legs. God bless him.
P. S. There will always be those who just don't want to donate. Thankfully, I think they're the minority, but then again, I really don't know.

DeleteDon't forget - quite a few of the old guard have simply died and not been replaced - partially the truly poisonous atmosphere, partially their obsession with sign up dates. If you were younger - say 30 - would you want to associate with them?
Other than that you are spot on. I know there are some reasonable posters still hanging on out of some type of loyalty, but not many and most of them are pretty broke, thanks to various things.
I will say one thing for onyx though - she takes doing the griftathon threads seriously.

ReplyDeleteThat's the pathetic part.
It's one thing to grift for your own benefit. It's scary and cultish when you can convince lonely old ladies like onyx to devote 8 months in a year to do your grifting for you.
On the "lonely old lady" subject, DJMacWoW is back after a three month absence.
And she is even more vile than before ... full on attacks on many other non-harpy freepers in the last few days.
Yep. It is sad. Onyx herself is rather nice - at least in the times I have talked to her. She's not exactly lonely, happily married still.
DeleteDJ, on the other hand .... *shudders*
Their kind of like Charlie Manson's cult followers, but without the nerve to actually wield a weapon themselves. They just like to make a lot of keyboard threats about what they or their husbands would like to do to imaginary other people who thwart their vision of America.
DeleteThe birther meltdown...how sweet it is. Where's Orly Taitz the hero?
