Trump's visit to the Senate is that third kind of thread. Freepers hate the Senate, they love Trump, they'll explain away Trump's blustering through not knowing Article I of the Constitution, blah blah.
But I didn't count on Freepers reacting to Trump getting actually challenged. In the campaign scrum it's easy to forget that Trump hasn't had to deal with nay-sayers since the debates, and those guys were awful! So when GOP Senators Flake and Sasse called Trump on his bullshit, some Freepers flipped the fuck out.
HarleyLady27 shows up to talk a lot about balls:
I think not only should Trump call out these ‘sissy ball less little boys’ but so should we!!!From sub-human to treasonous, meadsjn spares no Freeper-cliche adjective!
If we want our Country back, we are going to have to get a steel spine and some brass balls to do it, so quit grabbing the ‘pearls’ around your necks and start getting ready!!!
The whole US Senate is a corrupt cesspool of sub-human, treasonous scumbags.V K Lee thinks the GOP Senators are all in for Hillary, and also drowning or something?
If the whole assembly were to get vaporized, the gains would offset the losses at least 98 to 1.
They ALL 'walk funny', hampered by their posture and stance. Not one carries his/her/its head above the 'water line' For them it is Hillary or die. And they might see both to fulfillment.Diana in Wisconsin knows if you're not running for President, you ain't nothin!
If these ‘Senators’ are so AWESOME, why aren’t THEY sucking it up and running for the Presidency? They seem to have ALL of the answers, do they not? I mean, they’ve done SUCH a GREAT JOB of blocking all of the, ‘transformative’ things 0bama has implemented...
*ROLLEYES*
huckfillary just blames media bias and moves on to easier thoughts:
Flake’s a Flake. That said, consider the source of the article, the Washington Post. If the Post says the meeting was “tense” in all likelihood it was completely amicable.JudyinCanada wants Trump to start calling the media Democrats:
It would be better for Mr. Trump to refer to the media as being the obvious spokespeople for the democrats rather than just calling them unfair.bigbob might vote Dem, really, guys, really!
They are more than unfair - they are totally in the tank for the left, which is far beyond biased. Unfair sounds too light, something a very young person would say.
The media is corrupt, just like their overlords, the dems.
I’m pretty tempted to vote for Tammy Duckworth instead of Mark Kirk. She’s a democrat but having an R behind his name means nothing as Kirk will vote the wrong way anyhow. If that means Harry Reid is back in control of the Senate, I’m not sure it makes any difference vs McConnell. Kirk will not help implement trumps agenda. Tired of voting for RINOs.PhilCollins seems to be a Freeper doing Freep work in the real world. i.e. irrelevant.
I’m the campaign manager of Chad Koppie, Kirk’s Constitution Party opponent. If you know people who want to help Chad, by volunteering and/or donating, please ask them to read his site, www.chadkoppie.com. Chad says that the liberal vote will split among Sen. Kirk, Congresswoman Duckworth, and Scott Summers (of the Green Party), helping Chad win with 20%.sailor76 knows all Mormons are part of the Rommey hivemind:
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.)mbrfl wants to fight Flake:
Another Mormon butt-rodent and messenger of mittens.
Flake is just begging to be b*tch slapped.onyx goes on in detail about slapping Senator Flake:
Flake is also butt-rude arrogant. The very type I’d love to crack right across his snarky, smiling face. If ever a GOP Senator merited a slapping, it’s Flake.
I'll bet HarleyLady27 taped a picture of Trump's face on to her vibrator.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure she got an estimate on a Trump look a like real doll.
DeletePhilCollins thinks you can divide 80% by 3 and come out with less than 20%...
ReplyDeleteHe might be saying that the Greens are expected to get 20% in thar awkward way of ours.
DeleteI'm going to go full Constitution Party myself so Godspeed Chad Koppie!
I hate that Flake is my Senator, but if he really gave Trump crap, then for once I'm pleased he finally did something I agree with!
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked on the Hill I worked for an AZ Rep, and always thought Flake was one of the better Republicans, though I admit being on the House side I didn't have to pay him much attention.
DeleteHe was for a path to citizenship, for opening up Cuba, and on committees always seemed sorta weirdly stoked in a chidlike way to be a Senator (I can't decide whether that last bit is charming or scary).
He's from a very wealthy family that basically bought up eastern Arizona. They control a lot of state politics.
DeleteHave you ever seen "Another Period" on Comedy Central? He's like the eldest son on the show who gets a Senate seat.
It wasn't too bad when McCain still embodied the state's "independent" personality, but we all saw what happened to that after he lost to Bush. Then we lost our Democratic governor to the Obama admin, and it's been a backwards tricycle ride since.
I'm probably extra cynical because I grew up in Southern California and now reside in the only blue patch of Arizona (Tucson/Pima County). Voting feels a lot like shaking your tiny angry fist at a cloud.

The Another Period reference does ring true from his general demeano.
DeleteAs I recall, Snowflake Arizona is a merger of two towns, one named for his family. Good work if you can get it.
"Mr. Sasse continues to believe that our country is in a bad place and, with these two candidates, this election remains a dumpster fire. Nothing has changed.”
ReplyDeleteAt least someone finally said it.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me that maybe we do need gun control- no guns for black citizenry. They represent a small overall percentage of the population, and no guns in their hands would reduce gun crime by probably 80%.
They feel the same way about the First and Fourth Amendments, too, basically.
That's not a broadly held opinion on FR.
DeleteCome on. You know that's not true: it is just that most of them won't say it because they can see how logically incoherent it would be.
DeleteSimilar to yourself vs Jews. As a solidly faithful Christian you know they are a damned race for rejecting the Messiah, but you can't actually come out and say so on FR for political reasons.
I'm pretty troll-proof. As long as I don't get zotted I'm happy.
DeleteRomans 10
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Your interpretation is that the First Commandment is the keystone (Matt 22:38) and Jesus Christ is an optional extra. Interesting. I was aware of that line of reasoning, but it isn't often you hear it from a Christian.
DeleteI'm believe in the Trinity. The first commandment applies to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, a living in-the-flesh Jew, who reigns at the right hand of the Father and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
DeleteOK, but your reading of Rom. 10:12 is that even if you believe it refers to the indivisible YHWH and has nothing to do with a Fraud and Charlatan ("Yashu") called Jesus Christ then that is exactly equivalent ("no difference") in the eyes of THE LORD.
DeleteAs I said, not a new perspective, but an interesting one for a Christian.
Via Twitter, Trump is going to announce his VP pick Friday 11am EST. FReepers can fantasize about their dream pick, but I hate to spoil it:
ReplyDeleteIt me
My long time hunch is that she'll be an attractive women, not any of the guys that were publically paraded.
DeleteSARAH! redux perhaps? She's in the cauldron with the presumptive already. Have Freepers woken up to why everyone else thought Caribou Barbie was a joke candidate last time around I wonder?
DeleteI don't believe Palin hurt McCain at all. She helped him a lot but to no avail.
DeleteI believe that if people vote at all, many of them vote for facile reasons.
That goes against conventional wisdom, though I don't know if there are any stats to back it up.
DeleteYou are correct about how people vote - humans are tribal first and foremost. I expect that even those who think they vote based on policy mostly made their decision from allegiance and found the policies later.
Certainly Hillary has showed me I am like that.
I agree Theo. SARAH didn't hurt McCain materially because he was doomed anyway. I also agree that most of her fans like her for facile reasons ("Hot babe with gun") rather than anything she has actually achieved.
DeleteThat's one distraction Clinton II doesn't have to contend with: no-one is going to vote for her because they're fantasizing about her quasi-sexually.
Well maybe Huma. Just kiddin.
DeleteI was enthused about Palin because, for some reason, I thought she was a hot babe with guns that would raise hell for the unborn like William Wilberforce did for slaves.
ReplyDelete...but then she endorsed: "Planned Parenthood does great things for women"
