"Words had to change their ordinary meaning and to take that which was now given them. Reckless audacity came to be considered the courage of a loyal ally; prudent hesitation, specious cowardice; moderation was held to be a cloak for unmanliness; ability to see all sides of a question, inaptness to act on any. Frantic violence became the attribute of manliness" -Thucydides

Free Republic is down
Free Republic went down the morning of Trump's inauguration, and has not been up since. Saturday Pix and Monday Potpourri are chosen and ready to post, but will have to wait for Freep to get it's act together.
I know Freepers loved the 'patriotism means you can't be prejudiced' inaugural speech, but I am interested in Freepers' reactions to Trump taking the weekend off, to Obama's pardonapalooza being limited to Chelsea Manning, and other such.
More alarming ...
ReplyDeleteNo one is donating to the Grift-a-thon !!!!!
It looks like everyone's been going over to Facebook. That page is as vile and hilarious as you could imagine. Interesting thing, though -- no one there can hide behind a screen name.
ReplyDeleteI also think it's hard for them to ignore video and photos of how thin the crowds were for the inauguration, and how massive the protest crowds are today. There's no way to spin that, so maybe they're just waiting a while until it's out of the news.
ReplyDeleteWhite House flack, Sean spicer tried the "why bother with spin, just lie" technique today. Expect Freepers to just run with that.
Delete*I expect.
DeleteY'all expect what you want. :)
I was really disappointed yesterday. I really wanted to read how these people were going to spin this huge mess.
ReplyDeleteI did have a chance to go over to FR's Facebook page. As you'd expect, every poster is over the age of 60.
They really are wrinkle bags!
I am going to guess that quite a few of the wrinklebags aren't aware that posts to FR on Facebook under their real names will be able to be read by all their family and friends and co-workers.
DeleteTheir assholery will be on open display, and they'll be blaming it on leftist Zuckerberg, claiming to be "victims".

DeleteI saw this just before it was pulled. Something about how DC is 97% black and that's why nobody showed up for Donnie.

Would some of you Freepers please make sure this article is posted and discussed? Thanks!
Run this one too, Freepers.
ReplyDeleteThe very best signs from the Women’s Marches
http://fusion.net/story/382177/womens-march-signs/
Nice.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good march, reminded me of 2005, but more.
Good to see freepers and the rest of the alt-right knowing the progressives are not going to just knuckle under and accept the coming shit-storm.
DeleteFunnest part today is Trump's team banning the Parks Service from releasing any more (lack of) crowd scenes from the inauguration, and Trump and his press secretary throwing tantrums over the media reporting on the sparse attendance.
Free Republic is back up.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't limited to Manning, he commuted the sentence of a FALN terrorist who should have been put to death. And many drug offenders, I hope one of them doesn't kill somebody.
ReplyDeleteI was pleasantly surprised though that he left Don Siegelman in prison.
Deep cuts and super weak tea compared to what Freepers were predicting.
