(The Confederacy was the single greatest conservative resistance to federal authority ever)
It greatly amuses me when anti-government folks hold up the Confederacy as a noble stand for states' rights, when the Confederate Constitution was more strict, more tightly binding on the states than the U.S. Constitution. All it did was add a provision forbidding the states from exercising sovereignty on the question of slavery.
ReplyDeleteIn the South, you'll see big pickumup trucks with Army or Marines stickers right next to the Confederate flag ones.
Delete"Word?!"
I think many people (especially Conservatives) don't really understand secession and the Confederate states during the Civil War years.
I always like the "it was a state rights issue" comments.
"Yeah, a state's right to own people!"
“a stinking pile of garbage.”
ReplyDeleteNot sure what you are referring to but “When your enemy is self-destructing, don’t get in their way.”
...Is what I am referring to. If they are so dumb as to not see what will take them down then I give up. I’m about to turn 63 and i have had a triple bypass and about to say I don’t give a crap any more ‘cause I won’t be here when the sh!t hits the fan. If you can’t win when you have all the trump cards then I don’t know what I have been fighting for.
I am actually someone that obamacare has worked for....low income and able to take advantage of the tax credits to pay for what would be outrageous payments that would otherwise be unaffordable to any normal person.
I want obamacare to be REPEALED whether or not it is replaced and even if I can’t afford to buy insurance because the notion that I have to buy a private commodity as a price of citizenry is so offensive to me that I will go uninsured if necessary. I want the choice. THAT is what is American.
REPEAL the freakn’ thing! That’s what was promised. I HATE the GOPe! McCain, Ryan, O’Conell..and all the rest of them!
We have the majority so DO IT!
So he needs Obamacare because he can't afford medical insurance, but wants Obamacare killed because he shouldn't be forced to purchase insurance?
DeleteThen, uhh, why did he buy medical insurance anyway?
Either way he's on the public tit: Obamacare and its subsidy, or- because of his low income- Medicaid when he goes to the doctor.
If he's poor, he's not paying cash for his treatment.
Man he's going to be in for a shock if the conservatives get their required minimum income for Medicaid clause passed

ReplyDeleteTrump Plays 3D Chess, but He Only has Limited Pieces
ReplyDeleteThis isn't a terribly interesting thread but I have been wondering how Freepers are going to rationalize Trumps string of failures.
I suppose Buckeye McFrog has the key to it all, "Trump’s chess move will be to turn the fury of the American Public loose on these judges in a visceral way after the next terror attack."
When the shit hits the fan Donnie's fuck ups will be instantly forgotten, we will have to line up behind our leaders. Donnie will become deity.

ReplyDeleteWhy isn't anyone on Free Republic complaining about how often Trump is vacationing in Florida and how much it costs to keep his wife and kid in their own tower away from the White House? Is it just taboo to question it?
ReplyDeleteOne of the core rules of freeper town is "It's OK when our guy does it"
Delete"Is it just taboo to question it?"
DeleteYes
IOKIYAR.
DeleteThe Houston Chronicle has a great story that seems to have been overlooked in Freeperville,
ReplyDeleteFormer U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman blames 'deep state' conspiracy for arrest
Why aren't Freepers talking about this? It's big news!
Here's the headline from Fox News,
ReplyDelete"Comey confirms FBI probing Russia-Trump team links, disputes wiretap claim".
Here's Free Republics take on things, Vanity- Comey/Rogers congressional testimony a "ZERO"!!!
What is the purpose of Free Republic? If all they can do is hide their heads in the sand then what good are they?
Freepers are bending over backwards now to defend Donald Trump's shenanigans ...
Deleteand bending over backwards isn't easy for fat old wrinklebags like them.
They're all private citizens. Why were they being spied on? And why weren't the spying equally on Hillary's associations...just look at the foundation.
ReplyDeleteWikileaks spied on both campaigns but leaked only damaging material against the DNC and not Trump. I don't think that's a question Freepers really want to ask, unless they want answers.

$1.84? That's rice and beans a one boiled hot dog. And a pickle.
... and not even a good pickle.
DeleteOh the salt will flow on Thursday
ReplyDeleteWhat happens on Thursday?
DeleteI believe our friend Mr. Courage is referring to Thursday's Trumpcare vote in the House of Representatives.
DeleteI suppose Freepers will be unhappy no matter which way the vote goes.
Ah. Thanks. I haven't been keeping up.
DeleteWhen your life choices have led you to an old age that consists of rice and beans and a boiled hot dog and all the free TV you can stand, in other words, when you are a Freeper, you can take a few minutes out of your empty day (the kids haven't called in months) to complain about Supergirl.
