A Freeper since 2001, this guy has been featured a lot in this blog. But he's basically a completely normal Freeper. Pretty racist, pretty any-gay, pretty conspiratorial, pretty genocidal, looking forwards to Civil War 2. He has no theme, just believes all the things that make Freepers crazy.

His profile is similarly long and crazy yet directionless.

Part of what allows him to be so ploddingly standard is that he doesn't bother to grapple with reality - he just explains the real, 'secret reality.' He also has some interesting things to say about merit and society, not because they're original; mostly because he's not super consistent about it.

The Obama Admin has a consistent strategy which has served them well --

State a policy -- a good policy, that people actually support and agree with.
Then quietly do the opposite. Work against that policy at every turn.
When people notice and say "Hey! We see what you're doing, and we don't like it!"
Then you trot out the stated policy -- the one that people actually support and agree with. And the Obama Admin snarls, "You disagree with this? What kind of evil person are you???"
And then the Obama Admin quietly goes back to doing the opposite. Working against that policy at every turn.

They've had enormous success with this approach.

The public, stated policies are always a blatant lie, but they serve as effective shields for nefarious actions.

I agree -- but it would help if we had really accurate numbers. Is unemployment really 9%? Some would double that number and call it more accurate. Is inflation really that low? Some would triple it and call it more accurate.

I think you could make a case for a current Misery Index of 25%, the highest on record, but that certainly isn't what the media would say.

How could Obama be successful? Must be a vast conspiracy.

I think Obama is also a terrible politician.

And yet these people rise to the top and achieve more success than much better people.

GOP's Spending Bill not very Freepy

So far, the GOP seems to have opted for something approaching sanity. The omnibus spending bill they're circulating doesn't cut off spending on Obamacare or immigration enforcement. This lack of brinksmanship does not sit well with the right, naturally.

Amusingly, this gets derailed into a discussion of what Freepers can do about Congress not taking the midterms as an endorsement of Jim Robinson for Philosopher King. The various flavors of nothing are pretty funny.

And, meanwhile, the pressure continues to build for the GOP to do something nutty and showy.

Gruber has very much become a Thing on the right. Personally, I find the admission that sausage is made in Washington quite unremarkable, but someone decided this would play well with the folks, and promoted Gruber to head Obamacare architect, and let loose with the pearl-clutching.

The culmination of all this theater (and I suspect it's end) was in the grandest national political theater of them all, the House Oversight Committee. As with many things in DC, the Committee was substantive for a moment in like the 1980s, and then was quickly subsumed into the DC messaging machine and became a completely rehearsed charade.
