There's a new study out finding that young Republicans think the GOP is too crazy about social issues. Freepers, of course, kinda enjoy the victimhood that comes from losing righteously, and also fear any change to their little cramped status quo. So they do their best to spin this their way:
illiac is pretty sure the poll was skewed because it was reported in the media:
Politico.....what do you expect....Williams blames public schooling and the media existing:
You can’t have the young vote unless you take back the educational system, and get a voice in the media as well.BfloGuy knows kids always follow their parents:
Then conservatives say that’s impossible or they can’t be bothered. If they don’t want to run education in America, what can they expect to accomplish?
Republican parents didn't explain to their children rationally and calmly why they were Republicans. I always knew why growing up and it made perfect sense to me: we don't want the government to tell us what to do.spawn44 is clearly thinking long term:
If it could work for me in the seventies, it should still work now.
The article should be titled. HOW FRAUD AND IGNORANCE CAUSED THE GOP TO LOSE THE ELECTION BUT WIN THE WAR.nascarnation seems to see the problem:
It’s pretty easy to understand. On the other hand, everything's coming up re_nortex!
Today’s 20 somethings are second and third generation products of the Great Society.
They’ve been educated by progressives, informed by progressive MSM, and partake in progressive dominated social media.
Each year 2.5 million (mostly old/white/ majority R voting) people die and are replaced by (young/increasingly minority/heavily D voting) people.
We are definitely swimming upstream.
I'm over the age of 70 but I do know a number of young people and they're all solid Christian Conservatives and every one of the them opposes the homosexual agenda. The only reason they reject the GOP is because of its tilting to the left. Thankfully people like Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Louie Gohmert represent the future of the Republican party. All three of them are greatly admired by the young people I know....
I'll also add that the neighbor across the street is a tee-hugging, atheist leftist from Nashua, NH. He's been here in God's Country (as a result of a transfer in his high-tech job) since the mid-90s and still embraces the New England liberal values of his raising. But a gradual change is happening even in this guy. Why? His high school age daughter is a cheerleader in the good tradition of young Texans. She speaks with an appealing Southern accent in contrast to her dad's clipped nasal Yankee tone. And, best of all, she's Conservative and goes to church! I really think she's making some headway since her dad recently put up a flagpole on the porch with both Old Glory and the Texas flag. When he finally removes that silly COEXIST bumper sticker from his little clown car, I know that a conversion is nigh.Trailerpark Badass doesn't care about elections until there's shooting:
Most young people I see today are worth "losing."Viennacon just lumps the young in with all the other groups he hates.
When they start fighting like Mao's young revolutionaries, I'll laugh.
No problem. When the economy crashes under Barry, many of these kids will just kill themselves.
re_nortex is flat out wrong. The conservative young people I know don't give a hoot about gay marriage. They are fiscally conservative but not on social issues. He/She has a small group of like minded echo chamber friends and they think the whole country of conservatives is like them..Heck the majority of older conservatives I know today don't give a hoot about gay marriage or abortion.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before..the country is becoming more libertarian if anything. Small gov't and I don't care a shit what you do as long as it's not illegal and does not affect me.
All in all typical freeper talk on that thread......."I walked to school up a hill both ways in 0 degree weather in 8 foot of snow.. all the young people are pussies, now get off my lawn!!"
From re_nortex's perspective, Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz are "youngsters".
DeleteI believe its more a case of him knowing a few well mannered young people. They let re_nortex go off on his rants and raves, politely nodding and smiling, and just waiting for a chance to make their get-away from the crazy old man.
"If it could work for me in the seventies, it should still work now."
ReplyDeleteThe entire Freeper mindset, in one sentence.
Wolverines!
ReplyDeleteHow far will Civil War 2 get? The kids aren't interested so all that's left is a bunch of Freepers on Medicare.
It must be a funny life to live in Freeper World.
