2ndDivisionVet sets out the initial lines of debate:
The more we scream “COMMUNISM” “FASCISM”, “NAZISM”, the less credibility we have!pallis is sure everyone knows that half the country is Communist:
Yeah, even though it’s true, right?
The communists have convinced the witless that communism and democracy are mutually exclusive, when in fact, they work quite well together once a majority of the population votes to redistribute the wealth of a minority. Our Democratic Party is completely controlled by communists, as is our media and our educational systems. Obama is a communist. He knows it. I know it, and all but the hopelessly stupid of his apologists know it. He represents and reflects his party, and he will lead them to destroy the rest of us, any way they can.oblomov wanks as hard as any academic:
corporatism is form of authoritarian collectivism.central_va always has an interesting take:
One may view corporatism as a heterodox form of Marxism.
I have a preference for the term “corporatism” because Mussolini’s fascism had strong nationalist elements. The corporatism we live under is transnational
The key to the establishment of fascism in America was to to eliminate states rights and for FedGov™ be able to tax the people directly. The 16th and 17th amendments ere the fascist amendments....the OlLine Rebel prefers to redefine a different word:
Wage withholding is the most fascist thing I can think of. Hell they get it before you even touch it.
Corporations hate states rights and the republic, that is why the always cry for "we need a national law not 50 individual laws". Well that is crying for centralized fascism at it's core.
America is and has been fascist for many years.INVAR"
Communism requires “ownership” of everything. Fascism only control of it - regulation of every stupid thing.
We are there. Communism is the next step.
I prefer the term MarxoFascists - because I think that describes the tyranny we currently exist in a little more accurately.Rightwing Conspiratr1"
oligarchical socialism?!sargon explains that the trend is Communist:
Most patriots believe that America has adopted Communism in many ways. They base this on the evidence of their own eyes when compared with the beliefs of Marxists.AlexW never meant we'd become Russia, only that we're going to be awful and bad in some other, unclear way:
Personally, I believe it's inaccurate to try to reduce American domestic policy to simple "corporatism" or fascism. The Communism/Socialism/Marxism is there to be seen, and playing word games or ascribing it all to "self-serving interpretations" is either disingenuous or naive, IMHO.
The paradigm in the Patriot movement is that we are slipping further and further into the corrosive mobocratic abominations known as Marxism, Socialism, Communism, authoritarian collectivism, or whatever you'd like to call it. Calling it "corporatism" is far too oversimplified.
I never said that America would fall to the level of the previous Communism of the Soviet Union. I certainly do not expect the citizens to be fenced/walled in.
I do not expect gun towers for shooting those that try to escape. It will, however, easily become the United Socialist States of America. The life that we had in the past will fade away.
Fortunately, I have already escaped what America is becoming.
When I use a word, Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less.

Just what I was thinking. These morons just throw out various -isms with zero thought. Oh, and that original blog post? WTF? About 95% of the statements were in the form of a question.

According to freepers and other right-wing pundits, "communist" might as well be "boogie man" or "werewolf" or any other monster from their nightmares.
ReplyDeleteSomething they think will scare the children into voting Republican next time around.
It's like a game of Mad Libs where you're only allowed to choose from about 10 words.
ReplyDeleteTo anyone who has even a high-school understanding of basic political terms, most of these quotes are literally gibberish.
Ok, I'm trying to imagine a society that he thinks is NOT communist. Apparently anything with corporations and a government with the power to tax (read: every government ever) is communist.
ReplyDeleteAnd apparently the US was communist in 1776 (state level), and very communist after the adaptation of the constitution. Okaaaay, then.
Apparently the only society that's not communist is anarchy.Problem is, it doesn't work for any society post-invention of agriculture.
He'd hate it if you called him an anarchist, though, even if that's what his post logically leads to. Somebody should go post that on the Tea Party Nation website to see their reactions.
Antarctica isn't communist. He could move there.

The truth is there are never any actual "debates" on FR. There is only bickering and posturing.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, the consensus remains the same. America is a horrible place and SOMEBODY has to do something about it.
Not them, though. They're too busy bickering and posturing.
Sounds like academia.

Some website reports that Chelsea Clinton is pregnant and Freepers show their class. There are lots of terrible posts but my favorite is Fast Moving Angel's dismissal:
ReplyDeleteBenghazi distraction / diversion.
Benghazi is their new Vince Foster, their new Whitewater. A scandal that they've made up in their own minds that will never go anywhere. I can't wait to see what their next imaginary scandal will be.
DeleteNo, euph. It wasn't made up - wish it was. Steve Smith was someone I knew, though only online. He was a mod over on the SA forums in his spare time - temp banned me twice for inappropriate language and losing my temper. It's cool.
DeleteDo you deny the cause of Benghazi was lied about, consistently, for weeks? That people died who should not have died? That forces within 2 hours of Benghazi were perfectly willing and able to assist but did not get the order to do so? That of the 50 others recovered, they were held in silence for months and only now are one or two speaking out?
It's a scandal. Be honest and own it as a scandal. It certainly was not imaginary - no matter what spin the Freepers put on it.
Certainly it was a tragedy, but no, it's not a scandal. Just because the story changed as new information came to light doesn't mean anyone lied about anything. There were not any forces that could have gotten to Benghazi on time to do anything about it. And I'd like to see your evidence of anyone who was ordered to keep quiet. This is just something Freepers made into something bigger than what it was for political purposes.
Delete50 people rescued - which is also rarely reported. Not one of them talked. No one even knew where they were for months. There were questions in the House about that.
DeleteAnd Sigonella base is not only still (very) active, but is exactly 92 minutes flight time from Benghazi for a transport, under 60 minutes for a fighter. Ignoring those, there were the Marine force based in Tripoli - same country, only 200 miles away, with an Osprey at their disposal.
Of course, we can discount the three Arleigh Burke class destroyers that were off the coast at the time, complete with Marine detachments and transport helicopters.
But yeah. No forces could reach them during the 7 hour battle. You keep believing that.
I suppose you have links to evidence of what you're saying and are not just repeating things you heard on right wing websites? Republicans have been trying for over a year to make this a scandal and nothing has come of it. The average American has forgotten about it, and it will never be the big scandal that will get Obama out of the White House. You'll just have to wait until January 2017.
DeleteLinks - I have worked out of Sigonella (nice place). Know exactly how far it is to various hot spots, to the minute. The Mediterranean fleet presence and composition is public knowledge - which is foolish in my eyes, but there you go. The presence of both Marines and an Osprey in Tripoli at the time was confirmed under oath in front of a Senate committee and the testimony is readily available on line.
Delete" The average American has forgotten about it, and it will never be the big scandal that will get Obama out of the White House."
That makes me angry. Not the getting him out of the White House thing, but that it is already forgotten. Really - some random tourist gets grabbed and it is news for weeks. An Ambassador - the representative of the country - gets kills and it is silence.
You see the frustration?
If all the information is readily available online, then you won't have any problem showing me where, right? Republicans conducted witch hunts for months and were unable to find any wrongdoing on the part of the President. But RWNJs still continue to insist that he must have done something bad, and if we just keep forcing people to testify again and again before congress, somehow the "real truth" will come out. It's risen to the level of a conspiracy theory.
DeleteIt's "already" forgotten because it has been over a year since it happened and it did not have a deep, emotional impact on the American people (like 9/11 did) when it happened. The appropriate amount of coverage was given at the time, but Republicans decided that it was their "October surprise" that would hand Romney the White House and tried to use Ambassador Stevens' corpse as a political tool to take down the President. That's what the shameful part in this is. Even his family asked Republicans not to do that. So if anyone is at fault for the public forgetting about it, it would be those who wanted to use the tragedy to score political points, denying the nation a chance to grieve over it.
False outrage by right wing is so predictable .
DeleteStevens was not the first US diplomat to die in the line of duty.
Where was the rigjt wing outrage for the thousands of needless deaths in iraq and yes viet nam .
Yes the lies and spin are low but this isn't the.first pressident to lie, spin or cover up.
Move along folks.
