Between Two Ferns

The right is trying their best to make Obama's appearance on Funny or Die's Between Two Ferns show into a thing. I guess so that Freeper-types don't call them soft?

But Freepers hardly seem to care, actually. Here is their weak attempts to get angry about some show on a website they've never heard of. They mostly get excited about Galifianakis's lines as though they were true.
I had to cull these comments from three below twenty comment threads.

greene66 seems to have missed the joke:
First thing I saw when I turned my tv on a little while ago. Really lame. A sort of “public access” lameness. The news commentators were discussing how this would appeal to the youth vote. Maybe if said youth are high on dope. Really pathetic.
Yogafist retroactively made it unfunny after Obamacare came up:
I thought it was pretty funny until I realized it was just a commercial for Obamacare.
SoFloFreeper really loves tha rude parody script:
The man-child was probably told to go on as an easy boost for his image among LIVs. But it sounds like this kid asked him tougher questions than 99% of the “journalists” in DC.
A'elian' nation thinks the President threatened poor Zach:
““What’s it like for this to be the last time you ever talk to a president?”

Sounds like a threat to me by the “bring a gun” president.

lucky american has this damning revelation:
Oh Please. This is like watching a WWE match. Fake, fake, fake. and if anyone believes it wasn’t staged, they are idiots.
Wait, it's not completely spontaneous?

V_TWIN thinks Obama's grumpiness is legit though:
barry shows his thin skin once again.
1Old Pro is also well beyond the parody nature of the questions.
Obama is an embarrassment. Zach asked some pretty good questions that I think are more serious than most reporter questions.
V_TWIN is done with the blacks:
“last black prez”..........we can only hope.

    You don't say!

Also, I notice that FR is down this morning. Is it just about time for another grift-a-thon to start?

  3. You know, I absolutely fucking hated George W. Bush's presidency. And yet, somehow, that didn't mean that every single thing he said or did made me angry. If he said something that was kind of funny, or self-effacing, or whatever, I could appreciate it and give him credit for it without in any way moderating my opinion that he was an unprecedented disaster as a president, and also kind of an asshole.

Living without the ability to step back, now and again, and give an opponent credit for possessing some basic human quality must be pretty miserable. Honestly, it's kind of a wonder that all the FReepers' black, bitter, angry little hearts didn't give out when they hit 50.

    2. Anon, with the Iraq war, the great recession, etc. there is a really good chance that W. will go down as the worst two-term president ever.

Of course, it seems like the libby libs are the only folks willing to defend him. The folks that voted for him (99.9999% of the Freepers) won't defend him.

Oh really? What if a black Freeper runs on the GOP ticket? One that claims black people are the real racists? One that worships Ronald Reagan and admires Sarah Palin? One that believes in every Freeper political belief, even the crazy stances? Suuuuuuuure V_TWIN, shouldn't you be on Stormfront?

    2. I like Allen West and respect Herman Cain. Don't think either of them is really ready for prime time just yet, though. Either of them gets a governor slot to get some salting and show they can walk the walk, I'd vote for them in a heartbeat for president and work their campaign with pleasure.
Same for Dr. Carson. I want him to show the flash before he gets my cash, if you get what I mean.

    3. What on earth is there to respect about Herman Cain?

    4. Herman Cain is just a businessmen who has no skill for politics.
Dr. Carson is a complete bigot though, Allen West is even worst, he's perhaps the very worst politician in America.

    1. "in an obvious attempt to demonize the conservative billionaires in true Alinsky fashion"
Could someone please tell me, once and for all, what "in true Alinksy fashion" means? Nobody on earth ever heard of "Alinsky" prior to 2009 and that fat load Glenn Beck and his stupid chalkboard. It's a meaningless phrase, designed to negate ANY criticism of any sort. Teabags, you have to come up with a new debating tactic. Just saying "Alinsky" doesn't mean something isn't true. Although it would make a fun drinking game with you people.

    2. Rules for Radicals. It's a shitty book which expects the rest of society to be polite, law abiding, and kind of oblivious to what is going on. (OK, that last part is probably true for a majority).
It was big in the 70's, I remember reading it back then and hearing it talked about in the bars at Uni. It was roundly dismissed by my socialist and communist classmates as being impractical and over simplistic, they preferred The Prince and The Art of War as touchstones for revolution.

    3. More specifically, when a Freeper accuses someone of "Alinsky tactics," they're talking about the rule that says "ridicule is man's most potent weapon." To hear Freepers talk, you'd think that sentence is the only thing Alinsky ever wrote. If a Freeper (or other RWNJ) accuses you of Alinsky tactics, it basically translates to, "Stop laughing at my ridiculous ideas!"

    4. I know who Saul Alinksy is; I just don't think most people do. And I think Freepers pull the "Alinsky" card for any occasion, even ones that don't have anything to do with Alinsky. Mostly, it's just whenever they're offended or losing an argument.

    5. Go for offended. Freepers never lose an argument. They can't. It comes with the membership card.

I know. Broad brushing a little bit - there are sensible freepers. You recognize them because they never get called out here. They also rarely post now, other than in some very specific threads.
To be honest, I had forgotten about Alinsky for years, until he started cropping up again back in '07. What can I say - some of the rad fems were pretty hot!

    6. You're absolutely right, there are sensible Freepers. Heck, I think that's the whole reason I go to that site; whenever there's a topic that's going to contain predictably outrageous responses, I mine for the one sane person - even if I don't agree with him/her - to present an argument that doesn't require jerking their knee and makes me think. Sort of like panning for gold. A freeper did that just today on one of the Cosmos threads.

I'd like to talk to conservatives more, if everything that came out of their mouths wasn't so negative. The only time it's ever positive is if a homeowner shoots and kills someone climbing through a window; everything else is unrelentingly negative.

    7. "I'd like to talk to conservatives more, if everything that came out of their mouths wasn't so negative."

That gets depressing, fast. Not that those on the Left can't be equally as negative! (Not an excuse or a justification, just an observation - the hundredth time you get called racist is when it starts to get under your skin a bit) While conservative, I figure poo slinging matches are a waste of everyone's time and bandwidth, no matter who starts it. Unfortunately, many of the more vocal Freepers like doing that. They have their world view and are unwilling to accept that the world changes constantly. It's down to a difference in approach. Conservatism should be about conserving the best of the past, and making sure new things pass the smell test before accepting them. Not trying to hold society in the past at all costs.

If you do want to talk with "more rational" conservatives, try out TBL or gopbriefingroom (despite the name, it has a healthy disrespect of the GOP.)

      Best to you!

Just change "Progressives" to "Freepers" and "Koch brothers" to "the Obamas," and you have the same thing. I cannot figure out for the life of me why Freepers admire the Koch brothers so much, unless all of them are independently wealthy (which I highly doubt).
