rimjob getting desperate..almost daily rimmy starts a new begathon thread, Olive Garden must have raised prices in his area..
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice some days there is only 15-20 new threads and many have only 5-10 post on them-or less. All the old posters were zotted by the bible thumping holier than thou crowd or left in disgust
Poor old rimjob, gonna have to downgrade from Olive Garden to Freddys Pizza Haven breadsticks..

Participation in the threads is way down from what it once was.
DeleteTake a look at the jimcompoop's comments as an example ...
he barely says anything other than "FUBO", "FUMR", or "FURP" these days.
And his main harpies don't offer any worthwhile commentary either. Between Wagglebee and TheOldWrinkleBag being on non-stop zot patrol, even relatively intelligent freepers are afraid to make more than cursory comments these days.
I remember back in 2003/2004 when I was posting a person could click on an article at the top of the page, read it and post a few comments and by the time they would get back to the main page-the article they clicked on was 2-3 pages back.
DeleteDon't feel sorry for the old coot..he brought it on himself.
FR could have been "The conservative" site on the net..I still love how the site works and scrolling down through the comments-very user friendly. Breitbart and other's format suck
JR certainly brought it on himself, and he did that early. I *think* the first purge may have been the Brigadiers, and that wasn't long after FR was set up.
DeleteAs for the FR software, I'm not sure but I think it's built on the skeleton of Golden's Talkspot SW. From what I heard way back, Sitrep got hold of the same skeleton and set up an own forum run by himself and a handful old freepers.
But Badjoe set the FR income rolling, provided JR with an ongoing scam and was himself in turn kicked to the curb.
Bottom line is that JR has never laid eyes on anything he didn't try to steal. Even before FR.
I'd assume in 1998, there were few places to discuss politics online - period. FR had a big advantage back in the day being that the amount users also led to being the place where online organizing was done
DeleteNow? Discussion is everywhere and organization can be done a lot easier. FR just has what the founder wanted back when he started: Just to talk about articles.
JR never wanted to talk. What he wanted was money. From what I know, he had a consulting gig with James Golden and Talkspot, the contract was cancelled after the first year. I can't prove this, but I suspect what happened was that JR just made off with the backups of the software, and Badjoe turned his cult following into a zombie money machine.
DeleteFor those that use FR, they should of course know that they put their whole personal background on JR's platter. You think the NSA has your bedroom bugged? Try JR. What we do know - and this if fact not guesswork - is that FR's inner workings are completely undocumented, and that the software has been sold to no one else. Which means, of course, that any expectation of privacy in and around the thing means exactly squat. And knowing how most people approach "private messaging", they could just as well have a copy of JR in every toilet, bedroom, bank account and porn hangout the Freepers own :).
Here's a good one....
ReplyDeleteScott Walker says Governors make better presidents and that gets FR wound up. It starts off with the predictable: Obama was never a governor and Reagan was so PROOF! Plus, here's a picture of Sarah Palin!
Then the purists join in and the battle is on. Even Palin and Saint Ronnie take hits. My favorite post is when C. Edmund Wright loses it over newfreep's insistence on deportation of every single illegal in the country:
We would have to quadruple court rooms, police forces and states attorney’s offices to even try to do it - and then all other law enforcement pursuits would be put on hold.
It’s called reality. Idiots like you can’t deal with it.
Now, do you want to solve the problem or just be a self righteous jack ass ignoramus?
Of course, he then proposes his own simple-minded solution.
For some reason the newfreep/C. Edmund exchange made me think of a phrase I once saw on Freeper Madness:
Delete"With charity toward none, with malice for all"
