Vogt maintains that the two fraudulent birth certificates were produced by the Hawaii Department of Health in cooperation with several employees there, including the director, Loretta Fuddy.
DeleteBirthers are too stupid to see the contradiction there.
Morning euph!
DeleteNever really got this. Look - I know there is a mild amount of confusion about where he was born. Supposedly Hawaii, but he has himself claimed to be born in Kenya. I have the book where he states that.
Does it matter? Really?
Well - yes. I am not buying what the birthers are selling. I produce better (and more) than that every morning after my coffee and before my shower. But - if there is one person you should be able to believe, it is the President of the United States of America.
Is it too much to ask for for an accurate birthplace? He's American, his mother was American, so who cares? It's just one of those things that will bug me for years. And don't give me some tired old shit about fake birth certificates. (I know you won't but the Comedian will be along in a bit)
it doesn't matter what obama may or may not have said or published about his birthplace. no one is a witness to their own birth. which is why we have birth certificates and the full faith and credit clause. so, until such time when the authorities in hawaii entrusted with such matters recants their repeated official statements vouching for his birth in their jurisdiction, the birthers are mere theater and nearing the end of their run.
Deleteuntil ted cruz announces, of course.
Actually, there is zero confusion about where Obama was born. The only questions raised were by idiots, some who suggested wildly implausible "what if" scenarios and others who tried to pretend that the definition of "natural born citizen" meant something other than what it does.
DeleteBasically, in order for there to be any question at all, you would have to believe that Obama's grandparents and parents, the state of Hawaii (including those officials who wanted John McCain to be president), the CIA, FBI, SSA, NSA, the Secret Service, the Bush administration, the campaigns of Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Mitt Romney all conspired to put Obama in the White House.
The other thing to bear in mind is that President Obama has demonstrated where he was born far more than compared to any other President or Presidential candidate. For instance, the state of Connecticut doesn't have a website confirming that their records show that George W. Bush was born there. It's far more feasible for George W. Bush to have been sekritly born in Canada than Barack Obama's Mom traveled halfway around the world to a third world country to give birth to her son for no real reason whatsoever and then for no apparent reason have people help her cover that fact up.
Delete"he has himself claimed to be born in Kenya. I have the book where he states that."
ReplyDeleteDo tell. Cite your sources please.
He means the book jacket to "Dreams from my Father" where the publisher claimed he was born in Kenya, possibly to increase sales. This is taken as rock solid evidence by birthers. The text of the book tells the actual story, but what birther has read more than "Hop on Pop"?

Author blurb for Dreams of My Father. First edition.
Delete(Hey, it was cheap in a second hand shop and I am a sucker for autobiographies. Incidentally, if Bill Clinton didn't have a ghostwriter for his, the guy has serious writing chops. Totally worth the read, and I ain't exactly a Clinton fan.)
The very first line of the author blurb states: "Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."
Like I say - dude is American - his mother was. Don't care over much where his physical birth took place - that crap is for the tinfoil crowd, along with the various name BS they spout.
But you did ask - and politely. Took me nigh on an hour to find the damned book, too. It was right at the back of the eaves. Thanks. Found a copy of Friday in the same box, have not read that in years, so know what tonight's reading will be!
Yeah, if you look obsessively enough at anyone you'll find inconsistencies like that.
DeleteI suspect Obama could absolutely set that straight. But acknowledging the birther-types only encourages them to double their questions (Kindergarten? Occidental records? Selective service?).
In the end, I'll worry more about Obama's crappy appointments and lack of alliance-building on the Hill than his past.
"In the end, I'll worry more about Obama's crappy appointments and lack of alliance-building on the Hill than his past."
DeleteWe rarely out and out disagree - but I am going to here. You are your past. Simple as that. It is what made you into the person you are - either by the good or the bad that happened. So a person with a variable past (he has told several versions of his life - and not the mild omissions and embellishments we all do as we get older)? How do you deal with them? Know they are dealing in good faith from their understanding of a situation?
I would suggest that his failure in alliance building stretches back to his high school years. The one consistent point he has made - which has never changed - is that he picked his friends in both high school and college carefully, for his own self image. To not appear to be a "sell out" is the phrase he used.
His appointments - well some of them have been less than stellar. Payoffs for past support, mostly. Some haven't been terrible - yet.

DeleteNo, it doesn't. That was never used in any edition of "Dreams From My Father" (published in 1995). The only place that ever appeared was in a promotional booklet circulated within the publishing industry in 1991 by Obama's literary agent at the time, promoting a book that Obama never actually ended up writing or publishing ("Journeys in Black and White").
And the text of "Dreams From My Father" itself has always stated that Obama was born in Hawaii.
Freepers are just the kind of people who'd think acrostics were clever.
