SCOTUS gonna sit gay marriage out

I don't think there's another area where Freepers have lost so quickly and uniformly as gay marriage. And its clear to me that they're basically in full retreat, having lost almost all hope. You can see by the defense mechanism they invoke - apocalypse and secession. Both short-term bloviating that does not do a good job of transitioning between generations. Come on guys, posting "Sodom and Gamorrah" 4 times is so weak! Even racists back in the 1960s did better than this. But Freepers more and more only care about making their own hurting stop, if only for a little while.

Nextrush laments the upcoming persecution:
The legalization of gay marriage puts us on a pathway to tyranny with opponents of homosexuality and gay marriage getting full demonization and marginalization.
The tyranny of other people thinking you're a dick is one Freepers come up against daily.

US Navy Vet just rages.
No Surprise Roberts himself is a FAGGOT Lover. I DESPISE THESE 9 BASTARDS!
fwdude has the "sane" response, so you know it's gonna be crazy.
The sane response is to begin secession immediately. We cannot be a part of a profligate, fascist government any longer.
VerySadAmerican also claims to want to dissolve the union over this.
Andrew Jackson sad “Let him enforce it.”

Why can’t the states say the same thing?
Vaduz senses violence coming soon!
It look like they have no concern for rule of law only social change.
They are getting closer to becoming dangerous.
who_would_fardels_bear proposes a Christian tantrum:
If Christians aren't allowed to conduct business in a Christian manner, then going on welfare and having lots of babies may soon be the moral thing to do.

What if all Christian business owners sold their businesses, went on welfare, and started having lots of babies?

If the US doesn't want them to conduct business the way they choose, then why not become a weight on that government?

Don't the Hasidim in Israel live their lives this way?
Not sure what ecomcon is saying in this first sentence:
Sodomy is the natural order of things. As the people turn to sin, death and destruction follow unopposed.
zerosix is one of the few still with fire in the belly:
Now for our vaunted First Amendment rights, ever heard of anyone uttering, God Bless You to another, being told they may not utter such "offensive words," or any Christian closing a prayer in the name of Jesus and being told that must stop, yet the "rights" of others to scream, "Allah Akbar (Allah is Great) while either shooting or cutting off heads, hey, no religious offense here, move along, nothing to notice, it's his First Amendment right to utter those words while savagely killing others as "Workplace Violence?"
...
Actually, it's going to a pleasure to "suffer persecution for His Name," for He was persecuted and killed for our sin and He told us, if we take up our cross and follow Him, we are to expect persecution, so now it is clear, our time is coming soon.
Carry_Okie really hates how there are Civil Rights at all.
Since when was regulating marriage a Federal power?
Since the 14th Amendment, when everything became a Federal power.
Not anymore, DogWrangler!
It’s the Loving v. Virginia opinion that started all this. Is being opposed to that opinion allowed here?
EternalVigilance just takes refuge in his own mind.
If the courts ruled that up was down, and down was up, idiots would still die when they jumped off eighty foot cliffs. And the rocks at the bottom of the cliff would still not care.

These judges are idiots, and so is anyone who in any way goes along with them in their idiocy.

They’re only destroying themselves. But they’re not in any way changing the real nature and character of marriage.
Phillyred retreats to the next world:
It is time for Christians of America to think spiritually. This is a flawed world and America has chosen to reject God. It is the normal scheme of things in the history of the human world. I love this nation’s founding, but it is no more. Time to cling to the Lord and pray for the souls of those in the middle and our children. America is dying.
Colonel_Flagg takes spiteful solace in a spiteful faith.
The only positive here is the surprise some people are in for when they die and face the Lord thinking they were “married”.

There’s only one definition of marriage that matters, and it is the definition that will both win in the end and last for eternity. It’s God’s definition and that is one man, one woman.

  1. Tuesday seems to be Persecution Complex Day at FR. I've noticed that Sunday seems to flow well into Monday there at FR, but Tuesday seems to be the day that the shit hits the fan. Maybe it's that they've been without Limbaugh for a weekend with nothing but consumerism and football to construct their internal monologue...but when Tuesday rolls around, they collectively lament in their own feelings of persecution by the state.

It's as if they go to work on Monday- assuming some of them actually work- and are reminded that they're simply wage slaves like everyone else.

  2. Whenever I think Re-Nortex might not be trolling he throws me a zinger. Some times he puts forth the most conservative views-see his homepage.. but other times this vvvvvv..not sure if he is conservative and trolling both or just the grandmaster of trolling and laughing his ass off

Thanks...those four, Jim Robinson, Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz and Louie Gohmert are the Washington, Madison, Jefferson and Franklin of our time. That “Quartet of Patriots” exemplify the Biblical-based values that buttress America. And each has been a Conservative activist, advancing the restoration of liberty and the destruction of tyranny in all forms.

  4. This isn't a particularly good thread but it is kind of funny in one regard. The source article is basically right wingers saying to young Americans - Stop voting! We don't want you to vote. Stop it.

Celebrities embarrass themselves in effort to get young people to care about the midterms

  5. Statistical correlation is not the same as inherent part of every gay person, as the above comment assumes.

  6. @anon1

I have been looking, and can't see much of a significant difference between homosexuals and heterosexuals in terms of violence and extra violence as a percentage. Even taking into account the tendency of homosexuals to have more partners in general doesn't seem to have much of an effect. Bumps it up slightly, but taking into account the shame involved (stupidly, but people are people) in reporting heterosexual domestic violence and abuse, I'd call it a wash.

  7. Thank you for the link! It is suggestive.

We have heard things from a few of our gay friends too - some saying it's more prevalent, some saying it seems that way because homosexuals tend to talk about it more openly, certainly with people they know and trust. Women though - they are far slower to speak out about violence from men (and men almost never talk at all about violence from women - like I said, stupid but human).

  8. Have you considered the notion that, just as with guns, it's a male thing and not a gay thing? It's not that they're gay, per se. It's that they're male and gay. Sorry, but you're more likely to be violent with or without a gun if you're male, whether or not you're gay.

  9. Yeah, hating America is this guy's thing: http://vikingkitties.blogspot.com/2014/03/spotlight-friday-greene66.html

I take some solace in the fact that there's a decent chance he doesn't really believe it, and is just performing.
He says it as much as he can, which tells me he likes the attention as much as he believes it.

Yeah, I'm pretty moderate, I can't see voting GOP until they seriously de-crazy themselves.
