John Bolton, you are dismissed.

Former UN Ambassador John Bolton is a crazy person. He sees the rest of the world as the antagonist in America's story. This means America is always right, regardless of the means - or ends. So he's all for the NSA program - authoritarianism is only bad if you don't blindly define America as right.

Freepers are also crazy. But their tribalism is different - they define Democrats as wrong.

When Bush was in office, this was not a problem. But with Obama in office, it was only a matter of time before Obama's Bush-like policies meant that Freepers had to suddenly love the Fourth Amendment, while Bolton remains steadfast.

That day has come. The best part is the hypocritical solipsism - Freepers can't understand why Bolton has switched positions like this!
