Quick takes on Obama's speech

From the end of the live thread:

it was awful.

it was anti-American.

He didn’t really quote any scripture; he just sort of paraphrased. Which, yes—that’s what Satan did with Jesus, when he tried to tempt the Lord in the wilderness. He paraphrased scripture. That’s very disturbing, seeing the POTUS doing the same thing the devil did.

Is there anything worse then an Epic Fail? We have to come up with a whole new measurement of FAIL for the 2012 Democrat National Convention

I mean rock-hard fail. Dehydrated-rock-hard fail. Fail so failing that it goes way beyond the fail we know into a whole different dimension of fail.

The 2012 DNC is trans-fail failure. Meta-failure. Failure collapsed on itself so far that even the neutrons have collapsed. Fail gotten so dense that no intellect can escape. Singularity fail. Blazing hot mid-day sun on Mercury fail.

The 2012 DNC emits more fail in one second than our entire galaxy emits in a year. Quasar fail. Nothing in our universe can really be this much a failure.

Perhaps this is some primordial fragment from the original big bang of fail. Some pure essence of a fail so uncontaminated by anything else as to be beyond the laws of physics that we know.

PSYCHOLOGICAL OPS EVOKING 'EMOTION' TO GARNER THE FEMALE VOTE.

And I'm not even watching it.

it was a VERY ANGRY speech.

I must honestly say that the last time around...I could understand better what/why people were gooey and all a spluther about this weird fella.

BUT, tonight was just horrible. That was an amateur, immature, suck-up to the military speech. For a sitting President to give that bad a speech is..well.. totally an embarrassment to the country. I can’t believe it.

  1. They must have been watching "empty chair" Obama instead of the real president the rest of us out here in reality were watching.

    1. Thanks for proving my point. RWNJs only hear the "empty chair" Obama who resides in their heads. Not the one who actually exists in reality.

  2. A couple of people I've noticed to watch out for (seems excitable!)

    RetiredArmy has an interesting post:
"Amen. If it were not for Christians, Israel would have been alone long, long ago. NOW, that the Muslin is in the White House, Israel has been told that if they attack the murdering Iran nut cases with nukes, that they are alone and America will not help them. THIS is the first time that I can ever remember that America has told Israel your on your own. God will send his hammer of judgment on this nation. He said He would curse those who turn on Israel. Obama has brought God’s curse on America. America is finished. God will see too it. He just punished New Orleans for the second time, yet idiots refuse to heed the warnings. Homos party on, voodoo keeps ranting, N.O. will go down again."

THE HOMOS ARE PARTYING AND THE VOODOOS KEEP RANTING BUT GOD SMASH NEW ORLEANS WITH HIS HAMMER FISTS.

    1. God works in mysterious ways, but coincidentally most of the time he works on fault lines and in hurricane zones.

Seriously? Eisenhower - Suez? The USA doesn't just abandon but actively SHAFTS Israel (and France and the UK) to cozy up with Egypt. A 14 year old might not know, but anyone past retirement age was there at the time!

    1. It seems that the majority of Freepers were converted to Democrats after hearing Obama's speech however I'm getting the vibe that MNJohnnie had a lukewarm reception...

  4. I'm the guy who bet on Romney.

Looks to me like the Democrats ran a fine convention and that those Americans who are just now tuning into politics got a good show. I'm voting for Obama but I am sure disappointed in the campaign the Republicans are running.

Who did you like better, Michelle Obama or Ann Romney? Joe Biden gave a hell of speech. Ryan, the Republican, was even called out for the lies in his speech at the Republican convention on Fox freaking News. No comparison, Biden won. The most disappointing thing in these conventions was Romney's closing speech. Nobody watched that and came away saying, "Fired up and ready to go."

The Republicans have got to up their game.

  5. “The demographics race we’re losing badly,” said Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.). “We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.”

Simply put, Freepers are going out of style. We all love our crazy Uncle Larry but when he starts talking about the Kenyan usurper, we all wish he wouldn't come to Thanksgiving dinner anymore. Look again at what Senator Graham has said. The Republican Party must change or die.

Who is going to be Left Behind? Uncle Larry.

  6. Batten down the hatches,

Gallup: Obama's Job Approval Climbs to 52%; Leads Romney 48% to 45% (Barf alert!!!)
    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2928096/posts

Hey, Freepers, pull your heads out of the sand. The Democrats put on one hell of a convention, do you really think Obama wouldn't get a bounce? Or is all this part of one of your conspiracies?

And sure enough, there it is. Obama's "thugs" have been "going after" Gallup so... (Honest, I just laughed out loud so hard that I lost concentration. Here it is.)

"Didn’t I just read another story about Obama thugs going after Gallup?"

  7. FOX News play REM's song Losing My Religion during it's coverage of the DNC. That's actually pretty funny to me, but REM asked them to stop:

Freepers don't know how to have a good laugh and get all ad hominemy

    1. That is sort of an interesting thread.

What purpose does a comment like this serve?

"I heard a rumor that he and brucie springypoo had a fling."

I love the way Freepers just make things up. The census was only a couple of years ago. I don't recall them asking about my sex life.

And so what if gay folks were only 1%? This country has a long history of the majorities beating up the minorities. In the past half century we have taken steps to see that folks get treated equally. The American Dream is for everyone, not just those who are in the biggest voting block.
