Commenters have been noting that Free Republic is getting more crazy. I, as someone who marinates in the site daily, thought so, but wasn't sure if that was just the affect of staring into the abyss.
Welp, either FOX is getting more moderate or Freepers are getting more crazy. I know which one I think!
sodpoodle has this gem:

sodpoodle has this gem:
Fox is no longer Fair and Balanced - more like - Scared and Challenged.
Zing!
harpu thinks FOX is 'too balanced' for him.
I haven't watched FOX since OBozo was selected (by the media).
FOX is 'too balanced(?) for my values and their wannabe talking heads ('balancing acts' as I call them) just plain disgust me.
radioone got a taste of the real uncut crazy with Beck and isn't going back:
“Replacing Beck with Bob Beckel was the last straw!”
Glenn Beck was exposing too much of the intertwined workings of the Liberal organizations that are attempting to overthrow the USA.
Bob Beckel is a blowhard.
A lot of difference between the two
montag813 is still pissed FOX News let on a Palin Apostate in 2008.
What did they expect? MittTV was never a smart concept.
When Hanraty started bringing on the traitor Nicole Wallace, and yukking it up with that bitch, and sending regards to her father. ”your Dad”, I knew the end was near.
Recall this is the one who betrayed Palin on numerous occasions in 2008 - and recently, absurdly claimed that campaign “staffers seriously discussed not swearing Palin in” as VP if they won. THIS is Hanraty’s buddy? Disgusting.
I watch ONLY Greta and Stossel since Glenn Beck left.
NEVER FORGET!
I used to watch Fox news pretty much constantly, or least it was on the TV playing as background music. Now I never turn it on.
Same old rotating cast of talking heads screaming about the same things night after night after night. Quite frankly I got bored with it.
"screaming about the same things night after night after night." And Free Republic is different how?
CAluvdubya thinks the men are too ugly:
I only watch F&F before I get ready for work in the morning. Then I'm pretty much done for the day with FNC.
I did happen to catch Shep the other day...he looked terrible! His face was all sunken in there were dark shadows in the hollows of his cheeks and under his eyes. He looked bad! I quickly changed the channel. ((shudder))
momincombatboots thinks the women are too tarted up:
You forgot their short skirted implant bimbo effort. It was refreshing to see Bachman in sharp contrast. Like a lady, she was certain her skirt provided modesty. I quit watching fox regularly when gb left.
indylindy thinks some of the women are too ugly:
I am a female and I am not jealous of Grinchin. I could find it easy to be jealous of gorgeous Megyn Kelly though.
Except that I think she is a great gal, so I like her.
Grinchin even turns the husband off at my house. LOL
FOX News got too liberal, and all of the sudden they have ugly anchors...hmmmm.
TexasFreeper2009 Likes the bias, but thinks it's for the wrong candidate:
Fox better stop pushing Romney and get on the Newt-train.
Jukeman has a plan:
How about we start our own network?
Yes. Yes I think you guys should!
Fox is pushing Romney? Did TexasFreeper2009 even watch Brett Baier's Romney interview?
ReplyDeleteThe mainstream Republicans have been happy to pander to the extreme right wing of the Republican Party. Decades have gone by since Republicans allied themselves with Christian Right and what does the Christian Right have to show for their fealty? They've gotten almost nothing.
ReplyDeleteTo put it bluntly, the Republicans have been fucking the Christian Right like 2 dollar whores for years. And the 2 dollars is all they are ever going to get.
One thing I do know, those votes the mainstream Republicans get from the extreme right are extremely cheap. For example, all Roger Ailes has to do is run a few stories about the War on Christmas and that translates into real votes in November. Nothing of substance is required of the Republican Party. That's the beauty of it.
Will the extreme right ever wise up? Your guess is as good as mine.
Yeah, Freepers threaten, but most will vote GOP.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll bet most of them still watch FOX, despite what they say.
A freeper news network? I'm not sure the air waves could handle the stupidity.
ReplyDeleteAnon, you are dead-on regarding the gullibility of Freepers. One may believe there is a grand NWO conspiracy that keeps voters (esp. the right wing) in line and distracted by trivial issues while more serious things like the bankrupting of the country or criminal wars are happening
ReplyDeleteOr it might just be as "innocent" as politics as usual. But the fact is, the core hard right is easily distracted by trivial but emotional stuff as gay marriage, gays in the military, flag burning, the pledge of allegiance, etc. Keep them hateful and fearful.
That's why all a politician has to do to get their votes is say they'r pro-life and anti-gay and the Freepers love them. And the Republican establishment knows this.
The establishment really hates the hard right, and probably doesn't care about the abortion issue. And the Freepers keep voting for them, neverminding the fact that in the last 40 years they've gotten almost nothing in return for their support. Abortion is still legal, gay marriage is a reality in more and more states. And this was after about 6-7 years of the Republicans owning the Presidency, both houses of Congress and presumably, a majority of the Supreme Court.
The establishment doesn't want the abortion or gay issues to go away. They use them as red meat to lure the right wing in over and over again.
It's also why right wing talk radio is so successful but left wing isn't. Yes, part of it is that left wing radio is boring. But for whatever reason, the right wing is very easily manipulated and hence, hacks like Rush and Levin and Hannity get huge ratings (and are paid mouthpieces for the GOP establishment). Because Freepers literally take marching orders from these fools. Like I said, I don't know what makes them this way, but certainly they are.
