Preventing rape is easy!

There's an article about some Canadian self defense and situational awareness class for women, and how successful it is in preventing rape.

That seems pretty unremarkable to me. But Freepers, in a combination of pre-1960s morality and anti-woman tribalism, create a simplistic and bizarre world where you're either inviting or immune to rape:

But that would require them to be responsible for their own behavior, and to take responsibility for their actions.

How many times have you seen a woman.. running/jogging alone with ear phones on? I have... many, many times. Makes me cringe!

Same here, in a rural environment. We watch "Forensic Files" and every time they start off showing a college girl or housewife blithely trotting along like that, I know that we'll be hearing the lab tech say something like "The bones show repeated stabbings", etc.

I approve. My daughters were trained to resist all assault - several years of martial arts training. If any of them are attacked, I expect them to outrun the attacker(s), or to put the thug in the hospital.

Resolute Conservative has another idea to prevent rape:

So they should consider the lewd banter and taunting. One recent girl on girl murder case was claimed an “accident” by the killer. Again women can date rape and kill too.
