So it was interesting to catch their reactions to what is a purely British event, with no real American implications.
Turns out Freepers have no problem getting into a 17th century mindset, and it's all heirs heirs heirs!
RexBeach goes for the backhanded compliment:
The queen was well taught by her parents.Notwithstanding seems to think England is some kind of theocratic monarchy:
She is, perhaps, the only thing left in UK worth admiring.
God bless her!
Queen Elizabeth II failed utterly in her most important duties:mikeus_maximus agrees, England' state-sponsored celebrity family is just too full of scandal!
1) she did not produce a suitable heir (even William openly shacked up with his future wife)
2) she has lead her church to become a New Age multicultural gay yoga club
...except raise decent children. She’s a regal failure in primary duty. The Queen reminds capt B of the fetishized US military:
“Duty, Honor, Country”. Gen. D. MacArthur. Different world, different time. Don’t find much of it today- Outside our military
... "seems to think England is some kind of theocratic monarch".....
ReplyDeleteUsing the old slogan from the failing Obama supporting news agency "The More You Know." Apparently you don't know that the Queen is the heach of the Church of England a role English monarchs have had since Henery VIII.....
Ceremonially, sure. Practically, not so much.
DeleteHell, even fellow Freepers agree with me.
Do you really think England is a theocracy? Because by that definition, the US's ceremonial deism of Congress makes us a theocracy as well, and Freepers should really rejoice!
