Monday Potpourri Pt. III

Not really considering the implications, methinks, GodAndCountryFirst passionately advocates for America to adopt a third world standard of living, because that's where all the jobs are:
Unions and liberals have CHASED them out. Job creators don’t want to pay for a big, fancy house and a boat for every assembly line drone who really ought to be making $5 an hour or less, based on world standards.

Factory workers in this country are over-paid. But there is a reason for that.

Other countries are set up to have low-wage economies. They don’t have all the regulations and building codes that make live so EXPENSIVE in the coddled Western world. People in some parts of the world live on $1 or $2 per day, yet they don’t starve. How do they do it? First, they don’t feel entitled, so they don’t expect as much. Second, they can and do get housing and food they can afford. That stuff doesn’t meet “modern Western standards,” but guess what... they survive just fine.

What’s wrong with an outhouse if you can’t afford a house with a septic tank? It works. But the almighty government won’t let you have it. Want a car without airbags or nonsense emissions controls? Sorry, not allowed. Oh, and all your food need expensive government controls, too. So you “need” $15 an hour or more to live here.

That’s why job creators prefer to open up in places with a more business-friendly environment.
I went to an anglophile high school, so I can't help but read posts like tflabo's to be advice about farting:
If at first they don’t succeed then Trump, Trump and Trump them again.
I'm usually just bemused by Freepers, but Chickensoup's entitled pain made me mad for a bit.
my attorney tells me that there is no way to shield my assets from the government/medical/industrial complex. Very painful to hear.
How do they not see how cultish? The Toll wants to pledge allegiance to Generalissimo Trump:
Yeah he is going to look good dressed up like El Generale Jalisimo New York Values Mucho Caliente Man Child.

Those great big shoulder bars with the gold ribbons hanging from them.

Some fake plastic medals about 12 deep all the way across his chest.

A little plastic saber hanging on the side

And last but not least, a Napolean type hat set crooked upon his swelled ego head.

What an impressive figurine he will make. All hollow glassware.

If he wares that standing on top of a wall on the southern border I would pledge allegiance to him.
eartick explains why targeting civilians is necessary, when they're Muslim:
if you're ordered to deliberately target and kill the innocent wives and children of terrorists, well, I wouldn't follow that order.

It may come to that Brother because you know as I do the women and kids will pick that weapon up when it is dropped.

There is nothing "innocent" about war.
fortheDeclaration has an odd idea of what disavowing David Duke means:
Disavowing David Duke is simply petty racism baiting.
DiogenesLamp thinks Chief Justice Roberts has disappointed Freepers because of some paternalistic pity for dumb, black Obama:
I have become increasingly of the opinion that Justice Robert's goofy rulings are entirely due to racism. Pro-Obama racism.

As the Chief Justice who swore Obama into the office of the Presidency, John Roberts has become a lick-spittle to the idea that the "FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT EVER!!!!!" must *NOT* be a failure.

As a result, Robert's has been bending over backwards trying to accommodate this idiot, because Robert's DESPERATELY wants to protect the legacy of "his baby".

There is this certain class of white people who have a serious amount of "white guilt" bothering them all the time, and who's social circle "herd mentality" is along the lines of "We must do everything we possibly can to protect and advance the poor down trodden black folk" and as a result they simply lose objectivity when a negative focus is placed on one of those people they regard as their "wards."

Obama is like one of Robert's adopted children. Robert's is behaving like a protective father because he doesn't want people thinking ill of his idiot child.

That is the only thing that makes sense. Roberts is emotionally involved in protecting his little baby Obama.
faucetman explains away Trump's lack of experience by quoting Nazi sympathizer Henry Ford's argument that culture is for suckers:
For those who would say “yeah, but Trump lacks experience” (foreign policy etc.) I leave you with this:

“Let me remind you that I have a row of electric buttons in my office. All I have to do is press one of them to call the person who can answer any question on any subject I wish to know, relative to the business at hand. I take care of the business, they take care of the questions. Now would you be so good as to explain why, just to answer your questions, I should have a brain stuffed with general culture, when I am surrounded by employees who can supply any information I might want to know?”

Henry Ford (CHIEF EXECUTIVE)
I wonder if she thinks she's a Christian, because KittenClaws has zero sympathy for the poors.
People don't die in the street. Hospitals, by law, have to help them...usually on the taxpayers dime.

BTW, if people did die in the street, I'm still not responsible. if some do gooder wants to help by donating his money, that's up to him.

I didn't put the person on the street and I should not be forced into charity.

You don't like that? Then YOU pay for the people dying in the streets and leave me out of it.
Stupid do-gooders, lol.

miss marmelstein cries that the world is too dangerous to care if your nominee is a scam artist:
North Korea is threatening to launch nuclear attacks and we’re talking about some dumb civil case that is none of my business. What a country. We’ve let people like Kelly take over. We shouldn’t have given women the vote much less promoted them in this way.

And if you don’t agree, my fellow freepers, stuff it!!
meatloaf will allow a brokered convention only if Hillary is killed first:
You need to take Hillary out of the equation. She’ll be out of the race in the summer when her poll support falls into the sub-basement or earlier if she accidentally takes a dirt nap.
ilgipper lets Romney know that 2012 was a weak field compared to the brain trust of 2016:
We are perilously close to a third party here. Romney better tread carefully. There has never been any sort of love or commitment to Romney. He was the default option because there were no others four years ago. Had Christie or Rubio or some of the first term office holders have gone for it, they could have easily won. Romney’s opposition was filled with talented but non-competitive options.
kiryandil explains what America is:
As long as Hillary Clinton is walking around free, The Law in America is no better than that of a third world despotism, enforced by gunthugs. :)
Bedford Forrest spends a lot of words calling Rubio a whore and a slut:
The only thing Old Rafael Edward Cruz [the constitutionally INELIGIBLE Anchor Boy from Alberta] needs to complete the picture is some pancake makeup and a mattress over his shoulder. He is a dastardly varlet and true political slut, totalmente sin verguenza.
Earlier I said H1B was an area Freepers were pretty passionate about. Well, most of them are more passionate about Trump, as Hostage's weak spin shows:
Trump clarified (and it is true) that H1B is not the same as high skilled, and that the question concerned high skilled and not H1B. All this previous is true.

He has not changed his position on H1B.
PGR88 thinks Romney's misunderstanding of the GOP's current bad craziness is actually a reverse-psy-op:
The more I think about this whole thing, the more I think its some kind of reverse psy-op.

The GOP “establishment,” Mitt Romney, former CIA heads talking about coups, Wall Street, the main stream media - must fully understand they are hated, or at least not trusted by average Americans, yet they are all coordinating their efforts to bash Trump. Surely they have to know that they will have the exact OPPOSITE reaction - to push many people towards Trump instead. Don’t they realize this?

So they are either extremely arrogant and stupid, or this is some kind of reverse psychology ploy. I really don’t understand it.
CodeToad misses that gun control in the 1960s was from fear of blacks. Also he calls it feminization:
The anti-Vietnam war movement was huge, MLK was assassinated, the NRA pushed the 1968 Gun Control Act, Charlton Heston went on TV with other actors to denounce gun violence and demand the 1968 GCA be passed, so, yeah, I can see 1968 being the turning point of feminization.
Morgana blames Planned Parenthood for all sex things:
Where in the Sam hill did those boys 8 years old learn about oral sex????

Planned Parenthood. You know that organization that does “wonderful things” has been in the schools teaching sex ed to kindergarten kids for decades now we get this.
TTFlyer gets a bit melodramatic about Nancy Reagan's death:
When Nancy fills Ronald Reagan in on what’s happened to his Republican Party and this once-great country, there will be tears in Heaven.

R.I.P.

  1. Chickensoup wants to 'shield' the $475 in his savings account, his doublewide and his rent-a-center TV and sofa from the Government-Medical-Industrial complex. They have such inflated senses of self worth.

  2. What’s wrong with an outhouse if you can’t afford a house with a septic tank?

Infectious disease and bad smells for your neighbors, for starters.

When Nancy fills Ronald Reagan in on what’s happened to his Republican Party and this once-great country, there will be tears in Heaven.

I can see totally Freepers causing Reagan to weep in heaven.

  3. "El Generale Jalisimo"? Does he really not know the word "Generalissimo" or how to spell it? I'm guessing it's just another Freeper eggcorn. Bless their illiterate hearts.

    1. Women beat men with the same frequency, at all levels of violence, with which men beat women. And women do often “push buttons,” and then cry “victim.”

That being said: "Grrr, Muslims violent."

  5. "Now would you be so good as to explain why, just to answer your questions, I should have a brain stuffed with general culture, when I am surrounded by employees who can supply any information I might want to know?”

    1) Wow. I mean, this just sums up a good portion of FP's base. "I trust you (for whatever reason) so tell me what to think!"

    2) I suppose this is obvious, but: without general knowledge you won’t be able to tell when someone is misleading you! Oh, just, argh! *unintelligible ranting under breath as I stomp away, shaking my head*
