Because to a Freeper, there is nothing remarkable in the idea that truth sounds a lot like hate! |
The Cruz photoshop game is strong and bipartisan. |
Dominionist Christianity is super liberal now. |
It's a travesty when the rich have to obey rules! |
At the point, I miss Vince Foster references. |
... Christian Dominionism is a left wing movement...
ReplyDeleteI don't even know how to begin tilting Dominionism to get it to align with left wing thinking, really I don't.
Not only is it left wing, but it's theocratic at the same time. Like, huh?
DeleteI see that as a potential silver lining on the whole dark cloud of the Republican convention this year.
DeleteAfter all is said and done, the religious right is going to find they have lost great influence with the party.
I think there will always be a large pro-life contingent in American politics, but homophobia, transphobia, and creationism are fast becoming socially unacceptable, even among wingnut crowds. Look at how popular Milo Yiannopoulos is among right wingers, for example.
DeleteI put that into the "Wha??" category along with liberals (who, by all accounts, are all atheists) being aligned with Muslim fundamentalists. And bleeding-heart liberals being aligned with mass-murdering fuckhead Hitler. And liberals who are pussy gun-grabbers accounting for all mass shooters. And so on. It's really the "I'm made of rubber, you're made of glue" school of political science.
DeleteLeft, Leftist, Liberal, etc - it's all bad to a FReeper
Deletein the context of proper political science, it's basic, really. on the far left, collectivist theocracy, oligarchy, tyranny, fascism, etc. on the far right, individual anarchy. the united states is just to the left of individual anarchy (civil law, jury of peers, etc.) so anything such as this (dominionist theocracy & redistribution) would be considered 'left' to a proper libertarian... ;)
