Trump's suspciously Trumpian PR guy

Trump continues to amaze.

It started out as well within the expected Trump behavior - a tape from 25 years ago of someone claiming to be 'John Miller' who sounds and talks exactly like Trump boasting about how good Trump is with the ladies. And Trump at the time admitted impersonating his publicist was a joke that went too far.

I've heard the tape. It's clearly Trump after the first 5 seconds.

But Trump released a furious denial on Friday, and has not walked anything back. Which turns this from amusing, if egocentric, tomfoolery, into unnecessary lying.

I wondered what Freepers had to say on this, but they mostly stayed away from the story. I found two shorter threads, and a few worthies managed to deliver the manic defense of Trump I was hoping for.

Things started out disapointingly reality-adjacent with WonSpirit thinking this might have been another Trump masterstroke...except then why lie about it?

Regarding the old taped phone conversation by john miller, I’m wondering if trump is outing himself before the demos do, which is actually very smart. Just surprised he did not admit cause it sure sounds like him. Btw, I am a trumpster

Trump has denied that is his voice. The only thing the media can do now is to bring in an expert to analyze a 25 year old recording. If the analyst says it is Trumps voice, all Trump has to do is say it is not his voice and “who you going to believe the lying media who everyone knows is after me, or me”

I listened to this guy, John Miller, he doesn't sound like Trump, doesn't laugh like him...so I went to the youtube of opera and Trump in the 80’s to hear what he sounded like then, nope this John Miller is a real person, not Trump, but boy did the media get sholonged on this one...

I'm loving every minute of it, especially after Jeff Boo-Hoo said he's going to hire 20 people to dig up dirt on Trump...wonder if there is any RICO action on Jeff Boo-Hoo with Amazon and Washington Post? Could be what Trump is hinting at...

The other reason (I think) he did this is to establish the point that the media considers 25-year old activity to be relevant to this election decision. Now, when Trump brings up all the Clinton-era scandals, how are they going to claim, “oh, old news, that was so long ago, it doesn’t matter anymore.” Oops....

RoosterRedux starts formulating a conspiracy to kill the speculative messenger:

an editorial rep from WaPo was on TV (saw it on youtube) claiming that they had carefully vetted the source of the John Miller audio tape.

That would strongly imply that Trump was not the source.

Sue would have a lot to gain from turning over the supposed "lost" tape to WaPo.

It would get her back in the public eye via interviews and possibly kickstart her dead career. WaPo might have even offered her an avenue for her stories...at least a chance.

Just saying...stay tuned.
