Did Hondurus’s ex-President have a birh certificate?

Despite what some commenters have noted, I don't see a lot of inconsistency in Freepers' reactions to the current Honduras Brouhaha - they ALWAYS want Obama to meddle.

I saw not one Freeper argue Obama should never get involved in stuff. Instead, they only argue Zelaya was horrible and should die. That was the argument. Left unsaid is the assumption that America was at it's best in the salad days of the cold war, propping up our chosen while taking down those we did not like.

Cause it worked so well back then.

From what I can see, there was no impeachment. The Honduran Constitution does not call on the military to act as the Supreme Court's private army without legislative approval. And no, though the post-facto approval may be enough.

Maybe a close question, but I editorialize too much. I'll let our resident crazies do the talking for me. 2 threads, because such gems existed in both:

DNME makes the argument all the Freepers are making:

I’m stunned that Zero would loudly and repeatedly state a position that is so very, very far from center. This is amazing!

Millions of Americans stopped cold when they heard the Honduras action had been done under constitutional guidelines. That changed everything. Instead of just another Caribbean coup, this became a legal question and, better yet, a teachable moment for the rising pro-constitution movement in America. This was how a constitution in peril was supposed to work!

But instead we have Hillary and Zero loudly opposed? Joined by Castro, Chavez and Ortega, the Red Stars of South America? Speaking against an action taken under constitutional authority? This is priceless!

Either this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen Zero do, or its the last warning we get before our own constitution is openly opposed.

Hoosier-Daddy makes the dark insinuations of DNME clear:

He’s exposing his hand here folks, for everyone to see. It is very odd that he would do so, unless he feels somewhat invincible. Major Garrett called him on Iran, now he totally ignores the Honduran Constitution and sides with Chavez and Castro. He is telegraphing to everyone that he does not support a country’s constitution (Honduras) and will allow sham elections to be portrayed as legitimate (Iran). He knows we know that we can extrapolate that he might try the same thing here, and he doesn’t care. My guess is he is very close to achieving a goal that will allow him to do so, and thinks we can’t do anything about it.

See, it's clear to EVERYONE that Obama's a fascist now! Thus, he must have some secret fascist plan about to come to fruition! That's the ticket.

SkyPilot has...something...to say:
(What will Obama say after Zelaya is arrested?)

DEATH to Israel!!!!!!

And finally, we have some assassination porn from dfwgator.

This is tremendous, Don, just tremendous. The atmosphere heavy, uncertain, overtones of ugliness. A reminder, in a way, of how it was in March of 1964 at Miami Beach when Clay met Liston for the first time and nobody was certain how it would turn out. The crowd is tense; they’ve been here since ten this morning. And... and I think I see... the door beginning to open. El Presidente may be coming out. The door opens. It’s he... it’s El Presidente waving at the crowd. A shot rings out! He turns... he runs back toward the building, trying to get in. This crowd is going wild. He’s caught in a crossfire of bullets. And down! It’s over! It’s all over for El Presidente!

Holy shit, that's sick stuff.

  1. Freepers argue against the overthrown of democracy all the time. That's what they continuously accused Obama of doing. Now that Obama has condemned a coup, they suddenly are on the usurper's side

  2. Freepers and other conservatives point at the Honduras crisis and shout out that Obama is siding with Castro and Chavez. They don't seem to realize that EVERY country that has issued a comment has condemned the coup.
This puts American conservatives against everyone in the whole world except the Honduras military!

  3. America being alone on something compared to other countries only makes Freepers more sure of America's exceptionalism.
