Rob Portman's Apostacy

Rob Portman, former Senator and candidate for Mitt Romney's running mate has suddenly decided gay marriage is okay, coincidentally about the time his son came out of the closet.

As predictable as forced empathy leading to a conversion are Freepers' forceful excommunication of the dude:

txrefugee is pretty sure this means Portman's gay:
Next that RINO sissy will invite Anderson Cooper to a sleep over. And the GOP wonders why they have lost decent conservative voters.
Smokin' Joe also knows all gay marraige supporters are gay.
Ohhhkay....Rob.

What's in your closet?
fatnotlazy rails about RINOS. Also Obama's Hitler.
The party has been overrun with liberals, and I don't see a return to conservatism anytime soon. In fact, various party talking heads have said the reason Romney lost was because he was too conservative. They believe that by abandoning conservative principles, the party and its candidates will appeal more to the low information voters who support Obama. So I expect to see more liberalism in the party's future. Conservatives have been abandoned.

Expect to see the party implode...that is, if Der Fuehrer doesn't have it abolished first
Nifster digs deep in the "No True Scottsman."
Portman has never been a conservative.....
Rome2000 keeps it classy:
Maybe somebody can send this degenerate asshole three bucks worth of rope and hope he does the right thing and hangs himself.
No one tell Kickass Conservative about all the cross dressing in Shakespeare:
Preventing Gays from Marrying is akin to the story of Romeo and well, Romeo. Or is it Juliet and Juliet?

Just think what the story would look like in today’s world.

Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo?
I’m down here doing my Sister you bigoted Republican hater.

  1. One consistent thing I am starting to see on the freep is this 'low information voters' meme. Any idea, freeper watching friends, where this came from? I mean the freepers can not really be convinced they are some way more informed?

I am thinking this is strictly a product of the bubble in which they live. I mean, heck if you are unsure that Obama is not the antichrist/devil in human form/Kenyan crypto-fascist commie, it must be because you don't have the correct (approved by JimRob) information, amirite?

@anon I think many in even in the tea party know a few gay people, could care less about gay marriage, but are holding a stupid line for form's sake.

    1. I'll give you one guess which rotund Freeper opinion maker is super into the "low information voter" meme.

    2. Well, that would be Rush, eh?

    3. Yeah, he has a segment for low information voters where he discusses pop culture.

It's actually reinforcing the superiority of his audience over these hypothetical Americans, and Freepers loove it.

    4. Ozzy, love hypothetical americans. I think this is what free republic runs on.

Of course their hypothesis is quite wrong, and based on serious levels of bad information.

    5. "Low information voters" is a handy expression. It usually seems to mean "black people," but it's less obvious than "Amish" as a code word. (Fuckers.) If it's meant to be more expansive - ie "Obama voter", it's definitely more educated-sounding than "Dims" or "Libs" or whatever.

Of course that shit came from Rush. Pretension is that jackass's middle name.

  2. The harpies-macdog, little jeremiah have run off more sane poster than anyone-they gang up on them.

Anyone else notice how so few threads are being started on FR anymore?
6-7 years ago you would read a thread and come back several hours later and the same thread would be 3-4 pages back.

Now it is on the same page sometimes later in the day.

  3. And even with the reduced traffic, they still post the same articles over and over again.
