Ambivalence over Rick Perry

So Rick Perry has been indicted for a self-serving veto threat.

Legally, it may hold up. Practically, it seems an awful idea. There is no way this will hold up in higher court in Texas, and any damage will die when the indictment is overturned.

Indeed, the only effect would be to make Perry a martyr to the Left, and thus rally partisans to his side.

Or so I thought. But Freepers' purity crusade continues, and even persecution by liberals isn't enough for some...

South40 has decided this is liberal infighting.
La Raza Rick Perry indicted by his fellow liberals? lol!
OK guys, I_Publius is ready to fight liberals!
They just ticked a bunch of us off. I’m not a Perry fan, but I know what they’re trying to do to our state, they want a frigging war!! We’ll give it to them. (Legally and figuratively speaking, of course)
Bridesheadfan sees everything through one issue:
The baby killers want their revenge.
Tau Food thinks Perry is gonna have to step aside:
Yep. This is the end of Perry’s presidential run.

Yep, and it will make it easier for Perry to endorse Ted Cruz.
Poor damncat is gonna get zotted round about the 2016 primaries.
No one’s perfect.

I was a perry fan since 07.
And this only reinforces my support. I just hope the purists realize what’s in store for their preferred candidate.

Rick took the lead on the border crisis, then grained national popularity, and had to be slapped down.

The good news is if they’re firing at you, you’re over the target.

GO RICK!!!
sickoflibs attacks Perry for refusing ACA medicare funds?!
As I pointed out in my first comment I don't want him to run for POTUS and wouldn't expect any good if he did, but he's got a hell of a-lot of Hispanics in Texas and yet he turned down FREE medicare expansion there.

In some some fantasy worlds here that is nothing but on the planet earth that is real $$$ for his state he is turning down.

I saw this on a webpage "Perry is the longest serving governor in Texas state history", lets see if Cruz run as Senator in 2018 and wins re-election. That would be a fair measuring point.
Labyrinthos has an issue of his own:
Gov. Perry should be indicted for his new thick frame glasses. Ever notice how the so-called cool, trend-setting, hipsters all seem to dress alike (nothing trend setting about that)? Perry with his new glasses looks like he is playing “follow the leader” instead of “lead the followers.”
Rome2000 counsels savagery! Vaguely defined savagery!
The domestic communists in Texas do not fear Perry

Therefore he has failed to perform job #1

Decimate the American marxist movement, one state at a time.

There is no reason that ANY marxist should be in a position of power ANYWHERE in TEXAS.

Especially after the Delay debacle, this indictment is evidence of INCOMPETENCE by the Texas GOP.

Perry needs to strike back decisively, unleash hell, and eliminate the threat ASAP.

Playing this out through the legal process is a non-starter.

Smash the degenerate communist sons of bitches with extreme prejudice and ensure that they never have the capability to repeat this heinous activity again.

COUNTERSTRIKE!
Cen-Tejas gets specific - liberals should not be allowed to serve on grand juries.
The problem really truly is AUSTIN. It is about 70% radical liberal. Future such grand juries must be completely removed from Austin. I suggest Williamson County next door to the north.
LUV W explains why the ends justify the means.
Libs will do anything to win...ANYthing. And the sooner we really understand that the sooner we’ll learn how to do [almost] anything to counter them.
