The Toledo water crisis

Of all the areas in the country, I spent this past weekend in Toledo Ohio for a wedding. So I got to experience the water crisis first hand, as overfertilization lead to a toxic algae bloom that lead water not only undrinkable but really difficult to purify.

The government acted quickly and effectively, and there were no fatalities either from lack of water or the toxin.

But it was national news, so the question is what Freepers do with this example of government being a good thing. The answer appears to be Muslims.

machogirl heard something bad happened. Only one possibility:
Terrorism?

I was wondering about that. Last year there were a couple incidences of Middle Eastern “tourists” visiting Water sources. IIRC
jocon307 finds the basic chemistry to be very suspicious...
“Or boil it?”

No, it just makes it worse it said on another thread. I think it said it makes the toxin more concentrated.

Which kind of makes you wonder.
Kirkwood knows algae blooms are a slow, easy to predict thing:
Wasn’t anyone paying attention to the algae growth? I guess not.
doc maverick is pretty worried about the media's terminology:
Yes, produced by cyanobacteria, not algae.....do authorities even really know what they are dealing with?
Tigen would like to sell you his cure for algae:
I make Lactic Acid Bacteria and it will terminate the toxins in about a day! Or just was your fruit in it.
Naturally
Any questions? Oh by the way I use lab for a pro-biotic and a lot other things.
LAB Eats up the ammonia nitrate causing the algae blooms.
FAST
WKUHilltopper notes how those who were prepared...were no better off then anyone else.
Wonder if the press is making fun of preppers now?
Tolerance Sucks Rocks notes that Toledo sucks because it has some blacks:
I stayed in Toledo two weeks ago. The place is bad enough without a water shortage. Of course, the place I stayed might have been near a hood.
devolve has a new nickname for Obama!
- Barack Hussein Ebola “relieved himself” over Cleveland...
machogirl senses conspiracy in the air:
Feds are ramping up for something. When I went to Wallyworld here in my little hood in AZ, they were out of a lot of food and water.
machogirl also thinks any government assistance may be poisoned:
I don’t trust them either, and with the “skin-tint” warfare and “class” warfare this Administration has engaged in, I’m not sure I’d trust their shipments of supplies.
Friendofgeorge thinks this is important:
We may be in the last days

    1. Ah, a good old-fashioned "Freep this poll", on an online poll that's completely meaningless. Then once they've gotten the poll to show results they like, they crow about them. Truly pathetic.
