6th Circuit upholds gay marriage bans

More judicial hikinks.

In a reverse of every other circuit, the 6th upheld a ban on gay marriage. So now there's a circuit split and gay marriage will end up before the Supreme Court sometime in the near future (earliest: summer 2015).

Freepers have been getting beaten down on the gay front for a while now, and also don't trust courts. Plus, they just won in the midterms, so they don't need a win super badly like the have in the past.

Thus, their reactions to even this little victory are pretty mixed.

Cheerio is sure all the other Appeals Courts are being controlled by Obama:
Say what? Is this the onion? Is the 6th unaware of the Obozo agenda?
HiTech RedNeck has hope:
Isn’t it an adage (though not a requirement), the court follows the election returns? Well, now it can. Looks like the door just came off of the conservative cage. Rooooooarrrrr.
akalinin, though, knows the True John Roberts:
I wouldn't be too hopeful on the SCOTUS; John Roberts is a known homosexualist and his firm did pro-bono work for gay activists.
Sola Veritas does not like our current system of checks and balances:
The Constitution says whatever 5 out of 9 Supreme Court Justices say it says. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I am. I personally think it is time to amend the constitution to take away the power of the SCOTUS to spin the constitution to give rights never before recognized (or to take those that were).

Whenever the SCOTUS issues a “landmark” ruling, it should require “ratification” by the legislatures of the 3/4th of the States like any constitutional ammendment. The SCOTUS should not be able to ammend the COTUS from the bench...unless their ammending is ratified like any ammendment would require.
cradle of freedom finds the increasing inclusiveness of the gay community to be a sign of power-hungry madness:
Notice how their movement is not only homosexual but they call it the glbtq etc. etc. They keep adding new letters and they are altering the definition of everything that has anything to do with sex. They are redifining reality. These people are mad and tyranical.
Flavious_Maximus does not understand how precedents work, and also wants to kill judges:
In 1971 a homosexual man filed a lawsuit and tried to force gay marriage on a state. It went all the way to the supreme court. The court ruled that it was permissible for a state to ban homo marriage, since there is no constitutional right for homo marriage. This was the exact reason that a judge in Puerto Rico ruled in favor of the ban.

ALL THIS TIME, the homos had NO right to homo marriage.

The recent lower court judges that forced homo marriage on all the states should now be tried and executed.

  1. I always picture Freepers sitting around McDonald's drinking a free senior coffee. Do they lower their voices when they start talking about killing judges?

  2. One almost wonders if the 6th circuit purposely ruled in opposition just to force the issue to the supreme court (before any of the more liberal, and older, justices die).

Several analyses of the arguments presented to and rulings provided from the 6th circuit court contained nothing already discounted by the other circuit courts.

Even among freepers as a whole, it is almost fait accompli ... beyond a small dedicated anti-gay cadre, most freepers do not even comment on the "homo-agenda" threads, and some just stop by to say "fudge packer har har har!" or something just as profound.

You don’t have to post here y’know, There are literally millions of places on the internet where profanity laced posts are more than welcome. And you certainly should not donate to a site that you despise. Thankyouverymuch.

  6. FReak Repugnant will improve 100% when that bitter old man finally dies. Of course then the grifting and money train will dry up and FR will probably disappear forever, which will also improve the internet....hmmmmm......
