Santorum

In 2012, Santorum was briefly the Freeper anti-Romney hope. But now he's basically in Romney's camp as an impure agent of liberalism.

I'm not sure why, other than that he lost once before.

Of course, I'm also not sure why he thinks running would get him anything useful.

Here, Freepers rage when Santorum goes all "love the sinner, hate the sin" on Bruce Jenner.

ClearCase_guy has an od definition of crime against humanity:
In 2012, I liked Santorum better than many of the others.

But this is stupid. It's NOT a tough issue. Transgenders are mentally ill people who think paying someone to mutilate them will make them happy. And, statistically, this almost never is the outcome.

Got a Y chromosome? Then you're a man. End of story. Trying to change that is a crime.

It's a crime against the self. A crime against humanity. A crime against God. If you're on the wrong side on this one, there is no way I can say a kind word in your favor. Sorry, Santorum.
Flag_This - cowardice is disagreeing with Freepers"
He's a mutilated man with mental health issues and Santorum is a moral coward.
I can't get over Mr Rogers name, and his angry, angry posts:
“My responsibility as a human being is to love and accept everybody. Not to criticize people for who they are. I can criticize, and I do, for what people do, for their behavior. But as far as for who they are, you have to respect everybody,” Santorum said.

So....if someone says they want to have sex with their dog, but don’t because they are afraid of being caught...do we have to respect them? DO we have to accept pedophiles and those who want to have sex with dead people? Heck, do we have to “accept” anyone who wants to discuss their sex life?

When I was in the military, I told folks that “Don’t ask, don’t tell” applied to everyone on duty - that we had a job to do, and discussing our sex lives wasn’t part of it. Why do I have to accept ANYONE who wants to talk about their sex life on TV?
grania remembers when Santorum allowed for compromise:
Last time around, Santorum was gaining momentum and seemed like the best conservative choice. Then he started talking about the need to compromise. End of story.
trisham hated Santorum before it was cool.
I’ve never been a fan, and I’m not surprised.
highball - no one panders like people who say they would outlaw contraceptives!
So ok’ Rick finally pandered to the wrong group.

Good. We need to know that he’s not serious.
WhistlingPastTheGraveyard also with the cowardice:
He’s selling his soul for something he never will and never could have. He’s selling his soul for nothing.

Beyond stupid. It’s pure cowardice.
Long ago, livius sensed the liberalism in Santorum's soul:
I have never liked Santorum, whom I have always considered to be a combination of smarmy and ruthlessly ambitious...but not for any particularly good reason. That is, there isn’t any project he has in mind, he simply wants to get to the top of the heap (without a lot of accomplishments, ala Obama).
faithhopecharity's GOP is very small end exclusive:
Santorum sounds like he is prepping to run as a Dem....
(perhaps he sees the crowded R primary race and the wide-open D primary?)
jjotto wonders if there's a secret agenda:
are these guys conservative candidates with ego problems, or are they RINO stooges pretending to be conservatives?

  1. Rick Santorum stepped in it with conservatives, even though I (and most reasonable people) understood his point.

I chalk it up to him not having the multi-million dollar word-by-word public relations spin team that Cruz (and probably Walker) have surrounding them.

In freeperville, though, it doesn't matter ... freeperville is Cruz territory for the foreseeable future, until the jimcompoop changes his mind on a whim someday soon.

    1. True re_nortex hilarity ... if there was any question he was a poe before, his activity on that thread removes all doubt.

The thread in question is about the Amtrak engineer in the recent Philadelphia fatal crash being a gay guy.

Though the 300+ responses harken back to the old FR days (nowadays a 40+ response thread is rare), the freepers are not unified in their homo-hatred.

Seems like the jimcompoop is going to have go on a witch hunting zot-fest again ... but he's been looking for an excuse to try and gin-up donations anyway.
At last report, monthly donors continue to flee FR (or die off, more likely).

  4. Pennsylvania train crash, something, something... oh wait, no need to read further, txhurl already has it all figured out,

"I think PA Gay Mafia got him the job, and he scared the staff (and likely passengers) for a while now. Neurotic, drugged up, there are likely many people lined up to testify against him.

ER had to take a blood sample.. is why he was lawyered up immediately. He is likely deeply in the gay power structure in PA."

Really, it's things like this that have made Free Republic the shining beacon that it is, respected far and wide.

    1. Deep in the gay power structure.

Why is everything with these people a "power structure"? Do they not know that the whole rest of the world does not think the way they do?
