DeLay: Political Prisoner

A number of stories have fallen aside what with the AZ thing spinning out of control. Freepers over the weekend discuss Tom DeLay being sentenced to 3 years for conspiracy to commit money laundering:

alstewartfan just *knows* Delay is innocent:

So, WE are supposed to tone down OUR rhetoric when “stench from the bench”
political hacks hand down unjust decisions such as this?

Delay did not steal ONE PENNY.

I hold judges like this in contempt of the Constitution!

Oooh, and a Constitution fetish bonus at the end!

trumandogz is excited cause the Appeals Court will be partisan:
Tom DeLay has nothing to worry about since the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals is comprised entirely of Republicans. With that being the case, the appeals court will overturn the verdict.

wendy1946 says the inevitable:
This is asking for a civil war.

eCSMaster blames corrupt juries that don't come out like he'd want:
the DC jurors who “convicted” Scooter Libby were also corrupt, especially the foreman.
In both cases, the jury was highly Democrat in a highly Democrat district.
Do you really believe there is Justice in America?

Oy, imagine what a juror he would be!

unixfox comes off sounding a lot less like a badass and a lot more like a thwarted cartoon villain:
Payback will be a bitch.
Count on it!

Dr. Eckleburg would like to claim victimhood by association:
A political prisoner if there ever was one.
Pathetic.
They'd like to do the same with all Christian conservatives.

AbolishCSEU would like to bring up race:
Had Tom Delay been of the brown skinned derivative, he’d have been let off. In fact it would have never even gotten any attention for there to be a trial.
