Freepernomics

Romney has been bringing the old Bush economic team on board, and Freepers are bringing their own unique version of Bush's economic record back.  And I can tell you, unreality hasn't aged well.

mnehring thinks the economy till Obama was awesome.
The two dips during President Bush's terms were mild compared to some we've had and the gains were some of the strongest. Just because the media and politicians called it the 'worst economy in 50 years' doesn't make it so. You can't argue with the math.

Anywhere else, "can't argue with math" and then leaving with no math would be trolling. Here, it's proof.

Iron Munro acknowledges the economy was bad, but it was due to shadowy forces.
And no one at all seems to be curious about who caused the financial panic in Sept. 2008 that put Obama in office.

Yep, no one talks about the 2008 financial collapse at all!

what's up thinks Obama's imminent election and coming socialism crashed the economy.
It was remarkable how Bush sustained the economy even with a horrific terror attack (funny how everyone seems to forget that) and then 2 hard wars. The week it looked like the surge was working Pelosi and her MSM friends started attacking the economy and they never let up until Obama was riding high in Fall of '08 and sure enough people got terrified of the socialism coming and the economy crashed.
SoldierDad repeats himself some in railing against the obstructionist Democratic Congress:
The democrats took control of Congress (both houses) in January 2007, placing road block after road block in the path of the Bush Admin with respects to domestic items. 3) Democrats impeding nearly all of the Bush Admin domestic policy beginning shortly after Bush's inaguration in 2001, and continuing through 2008.
Zman516 agrees - Bush was helpless before Congress.
the RATs essentially took control of the economy when Pelosi and Reed became House and Senate majority leaders in January 2007. That, coupled with the seven RINO Senators like McCain so eager to please the RATs left GWB essentially helpless.
Da Coyote just attacks the messenger:
Dear WaPo...take all of your negative descriptors of the Bush team, multiply them by a very large number, and we can then apply them to your cretinistic quota baby president. Shove it up your smelly collective Obamas, journo-holes, your first grade understanding of econ doesn’t hack it any more.
silverleaf blames Clinton.
Bush inherited the Clinton/Greenspan recession (the one republicans weren’t allowed to talk about because it was caused by us talking about it...sarc) and then after 9 months in office, he and Cheney steered our nation and our economy through the worst domestic attack since Pearl Harbor, right in the heart of our nation’s financial center Oh, and our last REAL MAN of a president took the battle against terror to the terrorists’ sandboxes instead of ours and also talked India and Pakistan out of nuking each other over terror attacks in Kashmir

  1. On the bright side, this is one of those times when Freepers are discussing a hard news story. The vast majority of posts there are based upon opinion pieces from other right wing sites.

Hard news stories are often derided and dismissed at Free Republic. You'll often hear things like, "What do you expect from Reuters (the AP, the New York Times, the Washington Post)?" Hard news is just too hard for Freepers. That's why you see so many posts originating with an opinion piece written by an amateur at some place like Town Hall or some other lightweight site. Hard news requires thinking, not just regurgitating one's previously held beliefs.

  3. Freepers dive into the crazy end of the pool, and start debating the electoral colleges, RINOs, hidden agendas, commies, and of course Soros:

  4. TOO - MUCH - WIN!! I wanted to post a link - but how to choose?! You would need a CDC computer just to keep track of the epidemiology of the insanity. I can't cope. The whole site is the psychological (or more likely psychiatric) equivalent of an atomic EMP right now.
