Christain persecution

Freepers may act secular, but they sure identify as Christian! And they sure do love to be victims. Thus, Christianity is now illegal, apparently.

afraidfortherepublic feels like Christains are criminalized:

Experts agree that five stages of a coming persecution can be identified:

(1) The targeted group is stigmatized; its reputation is attacked, possibly by mocking it and rejecting its values.

(2) Then the group is marginalized, or pushed out of the mainstream of society, with deliberate efforts to limit and undo its influence.

(3) The third stage is to vilify the group, viciously attacking it and blaming it for many of society’s problems.

(4) Next, the group is criminalized, with increasing restrictions placed on its activities and eventually even its existence.

(5) The final stage is one of outright persecution.

I think we’re firmly in stage 4.

Tzar misses the Church Militant.

Catholics used to be confirmed as “soldiers of Christ”. The Vatican dropped that phrase because it is too mean. It should be reinstated.

SaraJohnson feels like she's going to jailed as a terrorist soon.

Either Christians form effective political action groups or the Left will make us “domestic terrorists” and seriously harm us like all the commies before them have done.

GOP Poet is courageously singing carols this Christmas!
I will sing about Christ until the day I die to as many people as possible. They can jail me, reject me, taunt, and kill me. I will never stop.
wintertime recently discovered the cut and paste function, and is pretty excited:
Even conservatives fail fail fail fail to address the problem of socialist and godless schooling. It is urgent. We must permanently shut down the godless socialist-funded schools.

So here are your words again:

Our constitution has been overrun because of generations of lazy complacent parents who let decades of children be indoctrinated in atheistic socialism by our atheistic socialist public school system.

He than posts that line 7 more times in the post immediately following.

Total God Warrior.

  1. They sure do have huge imaginations if they think Christians are anywhere close to being persecuted in this country. Or rather, they count not being able to force other people to be Christians as "persecution."

  2. I assume it has something to do with prayer in schools and/or gay marriage. Cause not approving of some laws means you're persecuted!

To be fair, their angry brand of Christianity is in the minority.

  3. Yep, exactly.

By the way, check out this thread. Two Navy women shared a first kiss. Freepers flip out:

  4. Nice thread, euphgeek. What was really funny to me is that one Freeper says

"It’s funny; if they’re two hot young women with lots of hair and a fine set of haunches, men are more than happy to watch them kiss. But if they’re doughy with cropped hair and glasses, it’s a crime against God."

And then I checked all the responses to that post and they're all agreeing with the sentiment in between the "homosexuality is a disgusting sin" posts and each set of freepers seems to be just ignoring each other.

  5. Tzar really misunderstands the concept of "The Church militant". I'm sure he thinks it involves guns and lots of ammo.

  6. Ozy, I think it has as much to do with retail store cashiers saying "Happy Holidays" rather than "Merry Christmas". Which is funny because almost as many cashiers tell me Merry Christmas as Happy Holidays, so not only is it an overblown "issue" it's not even true.
